The story begins with a teenage boy named Matthew, who gets pulled into the world of Pokémon straight from the human world. A crack opened in the sky, and out of it came a beam of white light that struck the ground with destructive force, leaving a crater in its wake. In that crater is where you'll find our human visitor, and where everything starts.

*Yawn* "What time is it...?" Matthew asked sleepily.

He turned his head to where his alarm clock was supposed to be, but it wasn't there.

"Huh...? Wait, am I outside? This doesn't look like my backyard..."

Matthew took a moment to take in his surroundings. Upon further inspection, he noticed that everything looked as if the very environment itself was a drawing, a really good one at that. As Matthew tried to stand up, he noticed something weird. Everything looked much taller than normal. Then he noticed his hands were... white? His fingers were gone, too. After feeling around his body a bit more, he slowly realized what had happened.

"Wait... am I... a Ralts? How is this possible?" Matthew asked in disbelief.

Unsure of what to do, he weighed his options.

"I could look for help, but even if I do find someone, they'll probably try to catch me... which might not be horrible, but I don't know if that will help..." *sigh* "What other choice do I have?"

Matthew's intense focus was broken when he heard the rustle of a bush behind him. He quickly turned around to see what was making the noise, and a girl with yellow eyes and short brown hair, who looked to be in her early teens was crouched down in the bush, holding a pokéball. Realizing she had been spotted, she jumped out of the bush and threw a pokéball at the ground in front of her. A Chespin with an aggressive posture came out of the pokéball, ready to battle. The trainer timidly hid behind the Chespin, clutching another pokéball in her right hand.

"Chespin, use Tackle!" she commanded.

The Chespin charged at Matthew, and all of a sudden, time stopped. Matthew closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, he was off to the side of the Chespin, no longer in range of the attack.

"I think I just used Teleport..."

Then, after putting one hand on each side of his head, Matthew cleared his mind of everything and focused all his thoughts on attacking the Chespin. A small wave of psychic energy emerged from his head and struck the Chespin, causing it to flail around in confusion before fainting.

"That must've been Confusion," Matthew thought.

The worried look on the trainer's face turned to horror when she realized she no longer had a Pokémon to defend herself with, and she got into the fetal position and started begging for her life. Confused as to why a trainer would be afraid of a tiny Ralts, Matthew approached her and began comforting her by giving her hugs and gently holding her hand.

After she finally calmed down, the trainer pulled out a pokéball. Matthew reached his hand out to touch it, and into the ball he went. *Roll* *Roll* *Roll* *Click* Just like that, Matthew allowed himself to be caught in hopes of answers.
