4:00 am and a loud knock would rouse Jhin from his slumber. Angel was still asleep sitting up against the couch with the pillow in her lap, the cat moving from its position to where he was lying since it was still warm. He rubbed his eyes and then answered the door, rather confused. His gun in his left hand, he opened the door to see a strange pink vixen standing there. She looked like she was dressed in knock-off military gear, though there weren't any sort of giveaways as to which force she could have come from. Usually this indicated that it was a bounty hunter, or one employed from the shadows due to their overly volatile nature.
"Can I help you?" Jhin asked, his gun where she was able to see it.
The lady smiled, and tapped on the side of the doorway with her gun. "My, my. Khada fucking Jhin. You're a hard man to find. Can't imagine after all this time, you'd be crawling around here in this dump." She said.
If he felt threatened, he didn't show it. Answering the door without a mask was risky, but he hadn't actually expected that someone could somehow have seen his actual face.
You are mediocrity. My genius will supplant you.
"Oh don't worry, sweetheart, I'm not here to expose that pretty face of yours." The lady said, as though she could see through the man's annoyance. "My name's Pink Stardust. For the color of my hair and for the PCP out on the streets." She chuckled in explanation of her nickname. "I'm here only to discuss business, and then I'll be on my way." She winked at Jhin playfully, still ready to blow his head off if the moment called for it.
"What business?" Khada was perplexed but nothing short of slightly curious.
The woman laughed, but stopped when she heard movement behind him. "Oh I see. So she's here with you then?"
Jhin glared at her with disgust. "Say what you wish and then leave." He said with force.
"Mmmm okay babes, whatever you say." She rolled her eyes and took a step back. "I'm a part of The Order. I'm sure you've heard of them, since they've been trying to hunt you down and skull-fuck your eyeholes for years now..." Her voice seemed thoughtful, almost as though she were fantasizing about fucking Jhin or something. Violently even perhaps. She could see that he was beyond annoyed with her presence however. Such a shame, he was in fact rather tasty-looking. "Well anyway. So. Cree right? You know 'em. You two been buddies for a minute now. He's looking for a new addition to our team."
"I'm not working with your kind." Jhin growled angrily, like she'd no right to even suggest it.
The lady moved over towards him, then lightly ran her fingers over his left shoulder. "Listen sweetheart. You're not getting a choice. See there's someone bigger and badder then you now. And if we don't take him out, he's gonna forever take your skinny butt out of the spotlight..." She playfully pressed her pistol to the side of his face, before leaning towards him far too close. "You wouldn't want to lose your pretty little spot on stage, now, would you?" She whispered.
Jhin pressed Whisper to the side of her head. "I find your work very, very... obvious."
"Jhin...?" A voice broke the closeness between the two at the door, though neither of them removed their eyes from one another.
"Go back to bed Angel, this doesn't concern you." Khada said, hoping that for once she'd just do as she were told. When she didn't, he actually found it almost reassuring. He surmised that he might have known her better then he thought.
"Who are you?" Angel demanded, shoving Jhin to the side and walking over between them. She was a lot shorter then the both of them, who were almost the same height. She looked up at the lady with the pink hair, and immediately felt bothered with how close she was to- well whatever Jhin was to her.
The pinkette smirked, and rolled her eyes towards Jhin, holstering her weapon and then putting up her hands playfully. "Hi there cutie, you must be the angel that's always sneaking around after this monster." She said in an almost childish voice like a mother might to a child.
"I wouldn't do that." Jhin narrowed his eyes to the female, then put Whisper back on his belt. "You make her mad enough, you might find out that she's an artist."
The lady laughed, and stood up. "Oh I know. Angels are dangerous beasts one they've become attached to someone. They'll fight to the death for the ones they love." She peered over Angel and at Jhin with a seriousness to her stare. "It's a shame that you've already selected your companion, I think that you'd be best suited up against someone a bit less pure..."
Angel wasn't really a creature of jealousy, but this was a bit too much for her to handle. Without an ounce of control over her emotions, she exploded into her second form, hovering over Stardust ready to snap her in fucking half. Her long tail flicked angrily as her wings flexed and flared out in the tight space of the apartment's hall.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, I told you..." Jhin warned.
The lady's eyes went rather wide, almost with excitement. "Truly an astounding beast." She said, eyeing Angel. "Forgive me creature, I did not mean to offend you." She sort of laughed nervously. "I was unaware you'd grown such strong feelings for something that couldn't love you even if you'd begged."
At that comment Angel actually backed off, and sat down in her form. Once feeling filled with rage, ready to crush this woman's head, she now was filled with extreme pain, and it devoured her right down to the core in an instant. Was what she said true? Perhaps it was. Jhin was a serial killer, not someone who could love on someone else. He didn't even like her, why would she assume he could do anything else other then hate?
Perhaps Jhin was the one that was so misunderstood after all this time.
"You have... exactly four seconds... to leave, before I put four bullets into your chest and skull." Khada Jhin said softly, Whisper pointed angrily at the lady. "If Cree wants to speak to me, he can come here himself, and not send some spineless disgusting cunt in his place."
The girl twisted the ends of her hair, then gave an awkward bow. "Just remember what I said Khada Jhin, you were a hard man to find. You're not anymore though. And there's a new baddie in town. He'll take your place if you don't comply. Bring your angel with you." She turned around and waved behind her. "Trust me, you'll regret it if you don't. I'll give Cree your addy here and we'll catch up."
What a terrible arrangement.
"Come Angel." Jhin pulled at the creature's arm that sat on the hallway floor. "Inside."
Jhin locked the door behind them, and he could see that Angel was visibly distressed. She wandered into her room, deforming while she walked through the house. It was a rather strange sight to see but she was clearly depressed or something. He wasn't really one for caring about another's feelings, but she had been useful to him on recent occasions. All his life he'd become so accustomed to faking emotions, yet around her he had been his true self and she'd still remained there. Perhaps faking emotions now would solve nothing.
Instead for the fist time, he wandered into his room that was once his prison. He grabbed the small electric piano she'd gotten him for him, and wandered into her room. She was curled up beneath the blankets on her bed, so he just sat at the edge with it, and played softly until she was asleep again. Perhaps she would heal herself from these strange dark feelings.
You helped lock me away. You tried to stop my work. My art cannot be contained.
Perhaps she knew that of him now and had elected to accept his existence. Was it truly such a bad thing to except hers?
