You took a dramatically deep breath as you finally finished the story after what felt like months.

At the retelling of the events, you felt a mix of emotions. You felt angry, sad, betrayed, hurt, embarrassed, and many more emotions that you could and could not name.

But you couldn't help but wonder what Ari thought?

As much as the idea of family judgment had never fazed you, specifically from your sisters, you still couldn't help but wonder.

Fighting was something Ari was known for, if anything...she had dialed back in the past few years. She didn't need much reason to throw a punch or to body slam someone on a desk, as long as disrespect was involved about her or someone she cared for she was on people instantly.

But where she differed from you is that she had never been arrested for it, and she had never been like you in general. She wasn't toxic, she wasn't dramatic, and she wasn't a problematic person at all.

She had her own imperfections, but none of those.

So you wondered how harshly she would judge?

"I can't bail you out Y/n."

Your eyes almost roll right out of their sockets as they widen in surprise.

"Huh? What the hell do you mean you can't bail me out?"

You can almost feel her shrug as that blank look comes across her face. "I don't have the money on me as of right now Y/n, I spent a lot of money on something recently."

Your lips twist at her words, "Ariela, why would you let me tell my entire damn story knowing you had no money to spare me in the first place? What was the point?"

"Who else were you going to call?"

Her retort sets your lungs on fire, but instead of throwing sharp words at her, you decide to take a deep breath.

I've done enough yelling and being angry

"You're right, but I need to get out of here as soon as possible Ariela. I don't belong in a place like this and you know that."

You grumbled, shifting on the balls of your feet.

"Do you want me to call Love to help you-"

"No."

The word falls out of your mouth as if you're on autopilot, and you clear your throat before you get interrupted.

"You really don't want me to call Love Y/n?"

"Yea."

You hear Ariela sigh on the other end. "Let that old shit from the past go Y/n."

You bite the inside of your cheek, not sure how to answer that.

"But I'll figure something out, I just don't know how long you'll be in there for."

You clench the phone at her words, "Alright, thanks Ari."

"No problem Y/n, I love you."

You sigh, "I love you to-"

The line goes dead as your minutes had run out.

"Come on, back to your cell."

You groan, glancing at the officer that's been listening in on the entire story. Her eyes are stone cold but a small part of you wonders what her opinion is too?

As the two of you walked back to your cell you wondered, did she think you were fully in the wrong? Could she see and understand your intentions? Or did you fully deserve what you were getting, if not more?
