It was early morning and Pony woke me up to go with him and Johnny to meet up with Dally. I quickly got up and got dressed to go.
I walked out the front door to see Johnny sitting on the porch steps. I had always connected with Johnny but not the way I connected with the others. I couldn't quite place what made him different. All I knew was I liked it. I walked up and sat next to him as I laced up my converse.
"Hey Johnny. How are you feeling?" I asked sympathetically. I knew how hard it was for him to go home every night to such a toxic situation. It made my heart break for him.
"Hey y/n. I'm alright. Just excited to get out of the house." He said, continuing to gaze straight ahead.
Right then Ponyboy walked out of the house. Johnny stood up and held his hand out. I looked at it and grasped it firmly as he pulled me to feet. A tingling sensation overwhelmed my entire body until he let go so we could catch up walking with Pony.
