"this was such a bad idea. oh my god i hate you."
"it was your idea, asshole"
kou and yoshi were sitting in the living room of the kuroos' penthouse. kou insisted the tv here was bigger than the one in his room.
tetsu and chi were gone on a weekend getaway, insisting that they needed a break from life. and kou was only too happy to see them leave.
his initial plan was to call friends over or to maybe throw a party but he found himself deciding against it. he spent the first couple of hours of his saturday morning deciding whether he wanted to call someone over.
he then spent the hours till evening studying and cleaning his room??????
and now here his arch-enemy-slash-situationship-buddy was, on his couch as they waited for today's women's V league game to begin. they were honestly only watching because mai was in the starting lineup today and atsumu was sitting in the commentary box.
the problem at hand right now though, was that the two of them had ordered fries with a peri peri spice mix. and neither of them could tolerate spicy food at ALL.
the first ten minutes of them eating the fries had basically just been a test to who was more stubborn. neither of them admitted it was spicy.
both of them subtly walked to the kitchen to get water for themselves.
after the water did not work, they resorted to ice cream. so now they were silently eating ice cream out of the tub on his couch.
the match began. atsumu, the commentator for today's match began to speak.
"hello, and welcome back to the V league quarter finals! i'm miya atsumu and joining me in the box today are volleyball legend kanoka amanai and my best friend, ojiro aran!"
"happy to be here, miya-san", kanoka spoke
"yeah happy to be here tsumu. the great thing about today's lineup-", aran began to speak before tsumu cut him off.
"the great thing about today's lineup is that my wife is playing!!", atsumu said, sounding excited like a little kid.
kanoka laughed. aran scoffed even though atsumu's reaction was not surprising.
"you have to be unbiased", the latter reminded
"yes, i'm completely unbiased", atsumu said quite unconvincingly.
"your relationship is so sweet", kanoka let out a short chuckle, "real talk though, this match should be interesting. all the best to mai and everyone else."
"yes, yes all the best especially to my wife though.", tsumu repeated.
"is the whole match just going to be uncle tsum fangirling over aunt mai?", kousuke questioned, taking another spoonful of ice cream.
"honestly, i don't even know", yoshi shrugged, "it's so corny"
one of the broadcasting cameras zoomed in on mai getting ready for the match as their coach briefed the team.
she was slipping the pendant round her neck into her jersey and then tying up her hair. if one looked closely, the pendant round her neck was actually-
"it's her engagement ring", yoshi pointed out, "she's wearing it on that chain"
"that's actually cute"
