MAIKO.
That whole thing about Tamaki to be scared to touch me? Yeah, that ended right after I asked him to hold me one time. It was obvious he was happy about it though, but I wasn't sure why yet.
But one thing that annoyed me to no ends was how Tamaki treated the guests of the Host Club. I sat on the windowsill drinking a cup of tea as I watched him converse on the couch with three girls, occasionally going up close and cupping their cheeks.
I rolled my eyes, grumbling under my breath. Why would he tell me that I wasn't a guest, when it seemed like he treated both them and I the same?
I couldn't put my finger on why I was so annoyed either. But there was a sizzling heat inside of me that was beginning to pop.
"Why are your eyes filled with tears every time you look at me?" One girl asked.
He brought his face close to hers, tilting her chin upwards to face him. They were so close. "Because, the sight of your beautiful smile causes the fountain inside me to start overflowing!" he exclaimed.
Oh come on! I huffed. They were fake tears! How could they not tell?
"There's a dark cloud over your head," Kyoya commented, leaning against the wall near me. "Bad mood?"
"I guess you could say that," I sighed.
Kyoya hummed, looking off at Tamaki's table. "I know you think you're the same as them, but you aren't. He treats you guys very differently."
I laughed, but it wasn't genuine. "He used that same line on me just yesterday," I raised a brow, challenging him to refute my thoughts. "I don't know though, it's just stupid."
"He'll realize soon enough, Maiko. You will too, don't worry."
"I don't know if I should be scared about how vague that was," I muttered as Kyoya walked away. The hosts gathered, staring at someone hidden behind the wall. Curiosity got the best of me and I began walking there as well. I couldn't hear what Tamaki was telling her, but by the lack of distance between them, it was probably one of his thousands of pick-up lines. I'm kind of glad I can't hear from where I was standing.
"What's going on?" I whispered to Haruhi.
"New guest, I think," they replied. They took a double-take at me. "Hey, are you okay? Why do you look so annoyed?"
"I'm fine," I shook my head.
"No! Don't touch me! You're phony!"
Suddenly, Tamaki was thrown backwards onto the floor. My eyes widened and my feet began moving before I could think. I knelt down to help him up: that was one brutal fall.
The Host Club gasped, and I think Tamaki was more emotionally hurt than physically. "What do you mean I'm phony?!"
The unknown blonde girl pointed a finger at him with narrowed eyes. "I find it hard to believe you're supposed to be the prince of this Host Club! You shouldn't be spreading your love around like that, you stupid!"
