In Love With You (Diluc X Reader)

You were walking towards the dawn winery when it started heavily raining.

Great

You thought to yourself. First you make Donna Cry and now ur gonna probably catch a cold and Jean will make you take a few days off.

You kicked a pebble that was on the floor.

You were commissioned to help the maids out at the winery.

You didn't really mind helping the maids since they were all very nice and you liked talking to them even if only for a few minutes.

You started shivering.

You were drenched, as if you just got out of a pool.

Your nose and cheeks were red and you were pressing your hands against your chest to keep warm as you started speed walking towards the winery which wasn't so far away.

Finally you got there.

You knocked on the door.

"Hey sorry if it took me a while it started raining-" you were pulled into an embrace.

It felt nice. It was warm and you had a feeling you hugged this person before.

You frantically opened your eyes. "Diluc? " you asked in confusion.

"You're drenched. You might catch a cold if you stay like this any longer. Come inside I'll get the maids to give you some spare clothing. "

Before you had time to argue diluc pulled you inside shutting the door behind you.

"Diluc I'm fine it's just some water" you said through gritted teeth as you trembled.

"You can do what you came here for tomorrow, don't argue with me please. " he whispered the last word so quietly you wouldn't of caught it if he wasn't holding you so close to him.

"Go sit in front of the fire place it's warm , adeline is gonna get you some clothes in a second. "

You stood still after he let go of you for a few seconds shocked. Was he being nice? This was a first.

You shook your head and walked towards the couch in front of the fireplace and sat down.

Soon after adeline came down to you giving you a pair of sweatpants and over sized t shirt.

You walked up the stairs to the toilet which you for some reason knew the way to.

After you got changed you went back down stairs to sit in front of the fireplace like diluc instructed you to.

You cautiously sat down and sunk into the soft couch closing your eyes.

" are you warm? " diluc asked.

"Yeah" you mumbled back.

You felt the couch sink a bit. Diluc sat down next to you. "Knights. Always so careless. " he whispered to himself.

You shifted uncomfortably as you were being consumed by the awkward silence.

"Your being unusually silent" diluc muttered next to you as he looked at the fire his legs crossed and arms on his lap.

"Your being unusually nice" you squinted your eyes in suspicion while looking at him.

"I'm always nice to people who aren't annoying" he furrowed his eyebrows.

You sighed and closed your eyes.

After running in that bad weather you got really tired.

Before you realized you fell asleep.

Diluc felt something drop on his shoulder. He looked over to see y/n peacefully sleeping resting her head on his shoulder.

She looks so peaceful

He thought as he examined her relaxed face and features.

He has never seen her look this calm around him before and he couldn't help but wander what it would of been like if the two of them were friends.

Would she always look this peaceful? Would she laugh around him? Would she be a completely different person?

He can't even say he knows y/n. He doesn't know anything about her, and the only time they ever talk is when their insulting each other or when y/n has annoying drunk conversations which are usually about how grumpy diluc always is and how annoying she finds him.

Diluc fought a smile that was creeping onto his face as he looked over at y/n again.
