"Turn off the phone," Xavier spoke quietly after a pause, revealing that they we're going to give in yet.
"No!" I yelled out for it to be too late. The phone was plunged into darkness like it was the first time. "No no no!" I flew into the screen a few times futilely trying to stop them. "Save yourself!" I called even though I knew they couldn't hear. "Just let me go..." I slumped down to the wall worried that I had lost my brother and a kind hearted stranger. "Why did I have to let them come here... we should've brought more people! At least another of his men! Then we might've stood a chance.
"But on the other hand, maybe I'm selling Xavier too short. He has taken down enemies of his own many times. He's always had someone on his side though. At least that's always what he told me. Maybe to keep my mind at ease. Maybe he's out there right now doing as he said he would. Protecting both of us as well as-
"There's also the scientist that could put us all at risk! They could hurt them while Xavier is busy. They wouldn't go down easily though, would they? Would they? Would they be able to fight their own way out? Some karate learned on the spot? There's not even a separate exit... we also closed the other exit if they were to just save themselves.
"What if I fall out of their pocket? What if I'm lost again...? What if the screen never turns back on. What if I'm all alone here for the rest of this phone's life. Could the microchip even be saved? Maybe in another hundred or so years, there wouldn't even be technology to access this, if someone wanted to access this. But would I even be the same then...? After all this time alone, would I go crazy? Would I even be someone you would want to save?"
I felt ones and zeros spilling from my eyes feeling helpless and scared of what my future could be if any one of the countless negative possibilities came to fruition. I tried to calm my mind and stop myself from thinking, but in this endless expanse of darkness, there wasn't much else I could do.
~Phone Holder POV~
How is he doing that? It's almost as if he can see the bullets as their flying past. I swear he even caught one.... I pulled my head back not wanting to get shot and looked over at the frozen scientist. It probably was hard to hear that he could be replaced like he was nothing, as well as being on the wrong side of Xavier's knife. I quickly realized that the scientist was also bleeding out quite a bit. I looked around quickly for something to cover the gaping wound on his neck. I took a chance and ran into one of the open rooms hoping to find anything. At the bottom of a drawer there was a roll of bandages which I quickly grabbed and sprinted back to the scientist.
As I met him though, he tried to get himself away from me, "No! Stay back!"
"I'm here to help you," I held up the bandages then pointed to his neck. "You want to bleed out or...?"
"How do I know you won't just kill me after?"
"Why would I go through the trouble of putting a bandage on you? I could just let you bleed out! And do you see what's going on over there?!"
"Good point." They now didn't resist as I tried to remember how to put these bandages on correctly. Stupid school system, doesn't teach us anything we need to learn like "what to do if you buy a phone, find a weird angel man inside it, go on a rescue mission for his separated body, have said man's brother turn out to be a trained killer with thousands of dollars to waste, and how to place a bandage on said trained killer's victim so they don't bleed out". That would be great to learn in schools. I eventually figured out how to put it on and looked back over to Xavier who was covered in blood, but had dispatched all of their souls from their bodies. What even is he to be able to do all of that? He turned back to look at me and I really wish I would've stayed behind that wall. His eyes were blood red and he had a smile that froze me to my core. Had he... enjoyed killing all those people? Needless to say, I was very, VERY happy I was on the right side of his blade.
