The webcam screen suddenly energized itself so I could see outside of the screen. What I saw ahead of me caught me off guard with just the amount of carnage that must've happened. I assumed that with the current plan we had, there would be less... blood. Xavier really must've gone off on a ramage. The scientist Xavier carried was just as much covered as Xavier was with, presumably, neither coming from themselves. I think somewhere along the way, he forgot the webcam was on and I could see him taking a few shots at them until they complied.
From the corner of the screen, I could see another carrying my lifeless body over to an unknown machine that was out of view, until the computer was angled so I could see. With what they were about to do, I wasn't sure if I'd even want to see. I couldn't seem to look away as my body was lifted limply into the air. From the scientist, even though I wasn't able to feel physically, I felt a bad omen from them. I wanted to call out to Xavier to figure out what he was thinking, but the scientist froze and was quickly paling before I could. I decided to leave it for now as they now began to work with the back of my head. I had to look away as it became too uncomfortable to watch. I noticed an irregularity and looked up to see Xavier getting closer to the screen signifying that the procedure was almost done.
"Are you ready?" Xavier asked to which I couldn't hear. I looked around one last time, knowing that I'd hopefully never have to see what the inside of a phone as a code looked like.
"Get me out of here," I smirked at him. Xavier gave a light laugh as he pulled up the "safely remove microchip" screen as another nudge to their mistake. I closed my eyes feeling the final sensations of leaving the computer and mentally prepared myself to get back to myself.
Soon enough, I opened my eyes seeing Xavier ahead of me. Not as a picture on a screen, but as a full person again. Slowly my other senses were coming back. I was now able to even hear a ringing in my ears. I still couldn't feel any sensations on my skin, probably as a side effect of being unconscious for so long. I knew my nerves were probably weak but not damaged as they would have to keep good care over my body. I attempted to say something to reassure a worried Xavier although no words would come out. I could barely even move my lips to form the basis of a word. I then realized I had no air inside me if I were to say something, not even a heart beat.
"I'm in survival mode!" I realized and commanded my body to start again. Just as the thought penetrated my body, I felt my body jerk as my heart began to beat after however long of being stopped. My lungs immediately gasped for air and my nerves fired up to my "brain". I closed my eyes feeling overwhelmed by all the sensations, but forced myself to stay conscious. I felt a warm hand over my chilled one, with hot breath seeming to plead that I'd be ok and everything wasn't for nothing. I forced my muscles to move to lightly grip back in response. I felt myself being lowered down to the ground and onto my back.
"Rest now," I heard a voice in my ear say, barely over the ringing. "We'll figure out everything tomorrow." I couldn't say anything in response, but I relaxed my mind to sleep however long it would take to wake up again. But I was back. I was in my own body. We had succeeded. I felt a small smile rise on my face as I lost consciousness. I am free.
