It had been a few months since Naari had made her way to Zalindov Prison. At least, she was there physically, fortunately she wasn't stuck there mentally. She knew that things would happen that could change that at any moment but she had to protect Jaren. It was her duty.
Naari had luckily arrived in time, when Kiva-the prison's healer- had a delivery of three men. It was also lucky that Naari was able to locate Jaren quickly before any irreversible damage occurred to him. Well, He was already injured and close to death by the time he arrived at Kiva but it was still Naari's goal to not allow any further pain to occur to Jaren. It was also good to see that he had woken and didn't do something dumb such as ask for her by name. She needed this to stay top secret, otherwise she would most likely be executed and Jaren would have no way of getting out or contacting the outside world, which would lead to Naari losing the crown prince. She really needed this to stay secret. She also needed to speak with Jaren.

"What were you thinking?" Naari lethally whisper-yelled at Jaren when she found him, days after his arrival at Zalindow. She cautiously looked around to make sure no one could see them tucked behind the cell block.
"Thinking what?" Jaren's face morphed with confusion, clearly unaware how serious Naari was. She had confronted him about the stunt he pulled, which was of course, coming to Zalindov Prison.
"Why would you come here? You're the crown prince and this place is dangerous." Naari felt like she was stating the obvious, which she was.
"I- Well, we needed someone on the inside. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to question Tilda." Jaren explained in a hush tone.
"But I was already on the inside and it would have made sense if I interrogated her since I'm the guard. Plus, I don't know if you've noticed but she hasn't arrived yet. If you die, that's on me and I doubt it'll look good on my job applications that I let the crown prince die." She rubbed her hand over her shaved head before looking around to make sure she didn't have to deal with eavesdroppers.
"... can we put this as I wanted to help?" Jaren innocently asked after a span of silence. Fortunately for him, Naari let the matter go and told him to stay as safe as possible. Jaren gave Naari a quick squeeze before ducking back into the cell blocks.

Working at Zalindov was something quite different from working at the Palace. The prisoners weren't something that Naari saw at the palace but that was no surprise. What was surprising, was that some prisoners-very few- were intimidated by her. Kiva was one of them, but Naari couldn't figure out why she still was. Naari had shown her that she could trust her.
Tipp, on the other hand, had been almost willing to trust her instantly. Naari found it quite amusing that Kiva was always telling Tipp to behave. While Kiva did have a point, Naari didn't mind him at all. He reminded her so much of Oriel that she had wanted Tipp to be free.
The other prisoners hated her. She'd often find them muttering words that were the rudest of rude words or they'd be visually showing her how much they hated her. It didn't bother Naari too much though, even if she hated it, she wouldn't punish them more unless they really did deserve it. (A/N: this is such a random ramble lOL I'll end it here... use your imagination)

Something Naari had learnt just after arriving at Zalindov was that she didn't need to live there. It was kind of obvious since she didn't need to live on the premises, since she wasn't a prisoner but she wasn't aware that she could travel to Vaskin. A guard had told her whom she wasn't close with but was glad that they told her.
After a quick decision, Naari went into Vaskin to take a quick visit to the tavern. It was a small tavern but there were many people inside it. Some were listening to the music that was coming from the band that was performing while others were guzzling down their drinks. Naari walked over to a free stool and promptly ordered a drink.
"You're new, Miss." The bartender stated as he passed her her drink. It wasn't a question so she nodded, waiting to see if he'd continue. He did.
"Where are you from?" He asked as she brought her drink up to her lips.
"Zalindov." Naari responded, about to press the cool drink to her lips. The bartender took a step back, paling. She cocked her head to the side.
"It's nothing personal but... you're a guard. You could probably kill us all in thirty seconds." He said at her movement. It made sense but... she wouldn't kill anyone. Not unless they deserved it. It made even more sense when Butcher and Bones entered the Tavern. The people who were carelessly drinking and enjoying themselves, all stilled in the guard's presence. Naari called the bartender over to further inquire about Vaskin. He quickly gestured that he'd serve Butcher and Bones before making his way to serve her.
"So do they always still when a guard walks over?" She asked when Butcher and Bones had been given their drinks.
"It's just that... They really could kill us or throw us in Zalindov. It's easier to stay out of their way." He said quietly, letting nobody else hear them.
"Then why are you telling me this? I could just as easily do that too." Naari said but with no intention of doing so. For all she knew, he could be just making enough to put food on the table. She wouldn't jeopardise that.
"You didn't walk in all arrogant and you didn't glare everyone to death." The bartender was brave and most likely honest which Naari appreciated a lot. She 'tipped' (A/N: I couldn't help LOL) a reasonable amount, before leaving so she wouldn't have to see Bones and Butcher drunk anymore then she needed to.
Naari rode back to Zalindov, where she would make history to make it a better place. Or at least as better as a prison could get.
