"You'll get there. I promise." Jaren confidently said. He brought the small boy who was in front of him, into a warm embrace. He held him tightly.
"What if I don't?" He sniffed as Jaren shuffled to crouch in front of the boy. Jaren met the boy's green eyes which were welling up with tears and shook his head.
"Faran, you will get there. There is nothing stopping you, all you need is practice and time." Jaran told him in all honesty. Faran didn't seem to believe him, shaking his head while tears streaked his cheeks.
"How could I learn? You're busy being King and Mum can't help me." He trembled before correcting himself. "No one can help me." Jaren gasped softly, not that he was mad at his son, rather he was surprised.
"Being King will always be second, you are always my first. And... I'm sorry about your mother but she never knew enough about her healing powers to help you, not after she sacrificed them for me." Jaren softly said, wrapping Faran up in a hug. Faran reached as well, hugging his father tightly.
"But I promise that we'll help you and guide you every step of the way." Jaren finished. He felt Faran relax against his body and gave a small smile.
"Do you think we could do something?" Faran shyly asked with a smile crawling onto his face.
"What did you have in mind?" Faran stepped away from Jaren, grabbing his hand. Jaren followed his lead as Faran led Jaren away.
"Let's find Mum and spend the day together. I don't mind what we do." Faran suggested, picking up the pace.
"That sounds like a great idea." Jaren agreed.
They found Kiva and after a quick explanation, she was onboard to spend the day together. The King and Queen cancelled their plans for the day and late evening before eagerly changing into more appropriate attire.
"Where are we off to first?" Jaren asked once they were ready for a day of fun. Faran shrugged, not sure what he wanted to start off with but Kiva was buzzing with excitement.
"How about chocobuns?" Jaren and Faran were excited by the idea and keen to get one. They immediately left without a second thought and soon they had a massive pile of chocobuns in front of them.
"This... is... delicious." Faran said through mouthfuls of the sweet pastry. Kiva chuckled.
"I am glad you think so," She brought Faran into a hug, crumbs spilling into her lap. Jaren joined in as well.
"What else do you want to do, bud?" He asked, still in the group hug. Faran smiled as he thought. Finally, he answered.
"Let's go to Silverthorn. It's been awhile since we have visited."

The Royal Family arrived at Silverthorn adorned with their masks and a cheer was heard from the children's ward. Kiva stood off to the side of the room, talking to Rhessinda, who was now in charge of Silverthorn, while Faran and Jaren used their elemental magic to entertain the kids. (A/N: Just pretend the healing magic doesn't work, idk why i just got the vibe that it wouldn't work cause it didn't work for Kiva)
Jaren formed a water dragon that was soaring around the room, controlled by Faran's air magic. Jaren then added small, delicate flowers to the water dragon, making it look like it had a trail of rainbows. The children cheered while Jaren and Faran smiled. They stayed until late in the evening before they had to leave.
"Mum, Dad, it was a great day." Faran told Kiva and Jaren before going to bed.
