Perita Brown worked for Evalon but more specifically, for the Royal family. The thing was that she didn't work for the Vallentis family, she worked for the Corentine family. Just because they weren't currently on the royal throne didn't mean that they were royal.

Life at the palaces were different to say the least. At them, people were swimming in luxury and comfort unlike how people were suffering from the impending war. In fact, Jaren's half of the palace (A/N: I'm pretty sure the palace is split into two? I can't remember loL) There were so many people always working in the palace that Perita was located at, which had made it very easy to slip through with a fake name to spy.

It was an early morning when Perita had woken to find a hastily-scribbled note on the floor next to her bed. It was most likely from the Viper, who was finally giving her a chance at rebelling against the current rulers. Perita had been part of the cause for some time now, but she never really had anything to do. She read the note and she knew what she had to do.

It was a good thing that Perita had befriended Prince Oriel and the young boy, Tipp. It was quite simple in fact to befriend the two since while they were struggling to sneak away from their precious classes, I was struggling to figure out how to secure my place in a world I clearly didn't want. Perita had to admit it was much better in the long run.

As Perita began her daily chores, she began plotting how she would fulfil the task successfully. She had started off in the kitchens, washing all the piled up dishes from the lunches and banquets which no one had seen to.

"Hiiiiii Peri," A cheeky voice called out to her. Perita turned around to see the young prince walking into the kitchens.

"Hello Prince Oriel, Tipp." Perita replied as she turned back to finish cleaning the last pile of dishes. She smiled as she sensed that Oriel had grabbed two sweetcakes from the table behind her.

"How's it going?" Oriel asked with a mouthful of crumbs spewing everywhere.

"Yeah, not bad. I take it you've snuck away from Tutor Edna again?" She asked, still cleaning the dishes.

"Of course! She gives us too much work and it gets sooo boring." Oriel dragged out the 'so' for a good deal of time.

"At least you're getting work, some kids your age aren't getting any classes. Perhaps if you don't want to study with Edna, you should go to the library and read a book." Perita said kindly. The boys (more Oriel) thought about it and eventually agreed. They waved Perita goodbye and turned to leave the kitchen.

"Wait, Tipp, can I speak to you quickly?" Perita hastily added as Oriel left the kitchen and Tipp about to follow.

"I noticed you were a bit quiet, but it must be one of those off days... Do you think you could do me a favour?" Perita waited until Tipp nodded before she continued, "I'm not allowed in the library but could you get me the Book of Law? I just need it for Mirryn but she specifically said I need to give it to her..." Tipp seemed to think about it for a while before nodding slightly. " Thanks!" Perita beamed as Tipp went off after Oriel, hopefully to get the book.

Throughout the day Perita kept herself busy waiting for Tipp to give her the book and praying to the gods that she would make the deadline that the Viper had given her. At first, Perita was worried that Tipp wouldn't deliver the book but she badly needed the book to help her cause. She needed something to prove. She had to do something to help bring the downfall of the rulers so better people could rule and finally bring justice to her dead family.

The door knocked and Tipp walked in with the book in his hands.

"Thanks Tipp! I knew you could do it, I'll be sure to pass it straight over to Mirryn." Perita smiled at him as he handed it over and left with an uncertain look on his face. He didn't reply but as soon as Perita was sure that she was clear, she hurried off to find the meeting spot. It wasn't too far away so she saw the Viper right away, the mask was so distinctable, yet Perita had no clue how she could have gotten on the palace grounds without drawing attention or starting a fight.

"Here's the book, just like you asked." Perita said, handing over the book to Viper. The Viper gave away no sense of emotion as it took the book, but responded in an unrecognisable voice, "Just one last thing before you go."

The last thing Perita knew was that the world crumpled away into an oblivion that she'd never wake up from.
