Peter walks down the street. This time, no one recognizes him. Peter reads aloud to himself from a hand-written note, "Hi, my name is Peter Parker. You don't know me, but I... uh. Hi, my name is Peter Parker, and you don't know me, but you--."
He stops outside the donut shop. Now with holiday decorations. Christmas lights. Peter finds MJ, talking and laughing with an older customer, a Stan Lee lookalike.
MJ turns, looks up at him, and waves. He's taken aback until he realizes she was waving at Ned, who has just entered behind him. "Hey!"
Ned walks past Peter and sits at the counter. "One sec." MJ tells Ned and then goes to Peter. "Can I help you?"
"Hi, um, My name is Peter Parker. And I...Would like a coffee, please." (HE FUCKING LIED!!!😭😭😭)
"Okay, no problem, Peter Parker." As MJ goes for the coffee pot, she chats with Ned. Hands over a free donut. "Donut for my fellow engineer."
"Oh... Wait, what?"
"MIT, they're the Engineers. The Mascot." MJ tells Ned.
"Oh, right, right, right. I should probably know that. Look at you with the school spirit!"
"Tell anybody, I will deny it."
"Oh, right, right..."Ned looks back at his phone, scrolling. Peter smiles. Happy to see them. Thrilled that they got in.
Then the door opened, "MJ!" Peter jumped and turned around to see Nathaly. She dyed her hair like Narcissa Malfoy from Harry Potter like she always wanted.
Peter's spider sense went off as Nathaly passed him. MJ and Ned run over to her and they hug each other, "Nat!"
MJ and Ned lean forward and start talking quietly. "So, how was patrol?" MJ asked her best friend.
"It was okay. Just stopped some guys from stealing a car. I helped a nice old lady walk across the street and she rewarded me with a churro!"
Peter looked at his friends who were whispering to each other and couldn't hear what they were saying.
"You know you could stay at my house for Christmas." MJ says.
"Or mine." Ned says.
Nathaly gets up and stretches, "I can't. I don't want to be a burden at the best time of the year. And MJ go to your customer and he looks impatient." Nathaly's eyes flicker to Peter.
"Ah! Right!" MJ slides Peter his coffee.
Nathaly steals two donuts and then places her money at the counter. "See you later, M! Bye Ned!"
Nathaly looked at Peter, surprising him. "Goodbye cute stranger."
Nathaly left the donut shop as she ran and then in a alley she put on her Spider suit and webbed away.
