Hey. I'm Matthew. I've got 4 sisters and 5 brothers, which makes 10 kids and lots of chaos when we're together. So, mom separates us as much as she can. If it looks like a lot of kids are going to be in the house, she sends us to a friend's house. Which means I don't really get to see my siblings. Which also means I can't practice playing the bass if I'm constantly going from house to house. Which means I practice at school.
By practicing, I mean without permission. I go into the orchestra room every day after school, and when there's kids in there, I skip practice. Which isn't often. So, my bass is still an option.
Speaking of bass practice, I was in the orchestra room, playing "My favorite things", a jazz song, when I hear the kids across the hall storming out of the library. When they're out, I get out, since that means everything's going to be locked up, and I don't want to be stuck in the orchestra room all night. So, I pack up my stuff and leave the room.
What I didn't know was that a girl named Leia was with the group of kids leaving the library. She'd heard my music, and when I left the orchestra room, she instantly knew it was me who had made those sounds she'd been hearing. And I also didn't know that something amazing would come of it. All because I have too many siblings, and I have to sneak into the orchestra room to practice playing the bass.
