For Park Sunghoon, leaving Sunoo for years was hard enough, was heart breaking enough. Though these feelings, he can say that he was able to grow and become better. Maybe the universe did want them both to become better and mature people. This way, he can finally, confidently say that he deserves Sunoo, as Sunoo deserves him.
Kim Sunoo's POV
Leaving. It's finally my other half's departure.
Who would have thought that receiving birthday greetings first thing in the morning would be this sad?
Although I have spent years of my birthday without my lover, this is different. Way different because I was once again attached, once again used to the man's presence that the idea of him leaving again would make me go feral.
I watched how my phone screen lit up as birthday greetings from people flooded in my notifications, I even spotted my parents' greetings.
I viewed them but strangely, my group chat with my best friends had no new messages.
"Did they really forget? Just the other day they were discussing about it..." I pouted at the thought of them literally forgetting the day I started existing.
Anyway, they probably must have heard the news about Sunghoon leaving which is why they decided to give me some space.
I let out a sigh, blowing my hair out of my forehead before slumping back on my bed.
Suddenly, tears started rolling down my cheeks as thoughts about Sunghoon clouded my mind.
He's probably in the airport by now.
Shouldn't he at least give me another farewell?
After dropping me off last night, was that it? He should know that I have a clingy side, too, and a simple hug won't do, especially when he is not going to be by my side for atleast 2 or more years...
I hugged a pillow to my chest, imagining that it was him who is beside me. Damn, I miss him already.
Fuck this. Fuck love. It kills. It hurts. It makes me insane.
A new batch of notifications came in again, probably birthday greetings and mentions from old classmates. After a moment, my phone started ringing.
"Sunoo hyung! Open the door!" Riki, the owner of the voice who called, spoke as soon as I picked up the call.
"Huh? Which...door?"
A loud silence came after until I realized what he was trying to say.
"Aha!" I awkwardly laughed. "Of course, my front door! Right, you could've just knocked!"
Riki's still the same. He still hates explaining so much common sense. Just like the past, he would just stare at me and let me process what he said instead of talking. He is such an annoying kid, to be honest.
It's not my fault my mind is flying out of nowhere when he called.
Still on the call, I opened my front door to see no one.
"Riki, this is not funny! Stop playing pranks on me for once, hm? It's my birthday so just let today slide!" I shook my head before stopping as I eyed the plastic bag hung on the door knob from outside.
"You saw it now?" He finally speaks again, jokingly sounding so done.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I rolled my eyes as I heard him end the call. Though the bag looked suspicious, I just grabbed it and finally took it inside.
"Oh, wow." I flatly said as soon as I retrieved a small cup of ice cream. "Oh!"
It's mint choco.
