Mother ran away when she found out she was pregnant for some reason. So I was born without knowing who my father is. Not even now that I'm already 17. Mom raised me by herself, she often told me stories about how she met dad. The craziest part, she...

So...if my father is a mobster...what does that make me? Do I have to become one, too? I stare thoroughly at that man. He was the exact same man on that photo holding hands with mom. If it was a bad past relationship, she never would've held the photo so dearly but is afraid that it'll be discovered that in the end, it was the only photo left in her old phone that she didn't delete. It meant a lot to her. The only possibility was that it was my dad.
She always said that she loved him no matter what, even though she's the one who left.
...I will never understand this so-called 'love' she talks about so much.
"What're you staring at?" my head snapped to the right. The two masked men had just taken their masks off. I don't recognize any of them, but I think I've seen that one with dirty blonde hair appear in some of the magazines in the bar when I re-stock the shelves.
"She's probably the only girl who'd dare stare at him for that long." I heard a lazy voice from the end of the room and spot a worn-out looking man puffing a mouth full of smoke.
Suddenly, both of our eyes widen at the same time. He's that detective guy who's on my case!
"You're that girl-!" he started to say and took a step forward, but I step out my left foot to a stomp, effectively making him hold his words.
"There's a policy for cops to keep clients' information a secret, isn't there?"
He just slumped back to where he was, "too tired to take you, anyway."
I've seen it. Mom had reported to someone privately to help look for me. It's Mamoru Kishi. I had no idea why she asked him, but she did.
Wait a second. If this guy knows my dad here....
"Do you know her?" I shivered at his voice. It seems that detective didn't tell him about my mom.
I stare at the man whose blood also runs in my veins. I can tell even if I was a bystander that we look really alike. I'm sure I have some of his features, as well.
"Not personally." Kishi puffs out another mouth-full, avoiding the question. Thank god they didn't hold onto it.
My hand slipped into the inside of my jacket for the photo before I could realize that I can't take it out here.
Dad's piercing gaze quickly settled on me as he was going to pull out something from his jacket pocket.
Gun. Was everything that was on my mind. As fast as he got out his, I got out mine from my boot.
"Whoa whoa whoa!" the man with a stupid hat waved his arms.
"How'd you get that gun?" the dirty blonde also took a step back.
