Baba's PoV

Arian's face went pale as soon as I told her the news.

For the past twenty-four hours, her mind couldn't get off Miki for a single second, but all she can do so far is ringing her cell non-stop since her health is still not in the best condition.

"I'll make sure she'll be back without a scratch. Don't worry." I lightly caress her cheek one last time before standing up.

Nolan told me something about a very old factory and a group of vandals. It was enough info to let me know who they were.

Please be alright..! I prayed silently as I arrived.

"Nolan, Asher," I called out to the two who were standing a safe distance away from the factory. Seems like they just got here themselves.

They both nodded at me in greeting. Both their fathers are important guests of the auctions.

Hiding behind a tree that's near the entrance, Ayase is there. Now isn't this scenario familiar? I bet Miki's in one of those windows up there. And the police are gonna be here soon.

"We need to move fast before the cops come." I say, "I'll go distract Aya, you two find some way to figure out which room she's in."

We split up and ran two ways.

"B-Baba?! Why're you everywhere?!" Ayase shouted soon as I let myself be seen. He hasn't changed very much throughout these years.

"Miki is in there, right?" I ignore his failed attempt to find his handcuffs and go straight down to business.

"Yes...it's been almost an hour since—wait how did—"

"Her full name is Miki Baba." That's all the answer he needed.

His mouth was in a perfect "O" shape. I can tell his conscience was stopping him from trying to arrest me now. Since as a father to child, he's going to experience the same thing soon enough.

He stared at his wrist watch, then sighed, "you have ten more minutes before the police force shows up. Honestly, it took them quite a long time."

"Thanks, Aya." I smile at him.

Just then, the loud thundering of a helicopter could be heard coming from a distance.

For a second I feared it was a police helicopter, but then a white helicopter with the O'Bryan family crest on it came into view.

That Nolan has a bright future in front of him.

"So Aya," I said to him, "Remind the police force about the kidnapped children in this place as well as those vandals."

Nolan's PoV

"It's gotta be that one." I gestured up to a sealed window. All the other windows can be opened, this is the only one that's sealed solid. It's the only reason why she can't get out.

"Now all you gotta do is fly up there like Superman."

"Asher, shut up."

"Or climb up there like Spiderman."

"I swear if you—"

I turn to him, but he's looking behind me.

"Legit." He says, looking at a pile of tools stored along the wall beside some firewood. "They're not very good at hiding and cleaning up their tools."

"...I'll be cursing you even as a ghost if I die, Ash."

"No problem! I'm a ghost whisperer."
