"Um, I really appreciate the dinner, Narrator.. um, but what's with the wine and the rose petals and.. candles?"

I sit across from Narrator, quite nervous. I had forgotten my phone at my house next door, and Gabriella was sure to come return it to me any time soon. I just feel like if she sees me in this situation, she'd get upset with me.

And I think Narrator could see the expression on my face, so he began trying to complement me to lift my spirit.

"Goddamn, the way you glisten in the candlelight.. it brings out all your best features.."

Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect, and I decided to stand up and attempt to take off my hoodie. Well, not my hoodie. It was actually one of Narrator's older ones he had lent me last week, and I just wanted to give it him and get out of the house as soon as I could.

But then it got stuck.

No matter what I did, it wouldn't come over my head. Pull after pull after pull, it was just impossible. An aura of embarrassment and impatience filled the air, and I frantically called for Narrator's help.

"Dawg, help me! I can't get it off!"

(Narrator's P.O.V)

I glance over in Eddie's direction as he shouts for me to help him. He had gotten my pink hoodie stuck above his head and seemed to be having issues pulling it over.

"I'll help you! Narrator to the rescue!"

I quickly stand up from my chair and rush over, beginning to pull. The end goal was simple enough! And right as it was going to come off, the doorbell rang, and Gabby's voice grew louder from within the hall.

"Eddie! You forgot your-"

She walked into the room and stops at a very sudden halt.

"...phone."

Her demeanour suddenly changed to one more sullen and sad as Eddie's phone is placed on the table, and she leaves without another word.

"Gabriella, wait!"

Eddie then proceeds to bolt after her, and I follow shortly behind. He's begging for her to stop, and for her to listen, but it's no use. She's in the car and off as I finally manage to catch up.

It left Eddie all alone, in the darkness within the sky, and not a thought in his head. Tears were streaming down his cheeks, and he was silent. I mean, what could he say?

"Look, Eddie, I'm sorry.."

He just sits down on the front step, his head in his hand.

"If you want.. I could hold you.."

He turns his eyes to me.

"Like, cuddles? Do you like cuddles?"

I sit beside him, and wrap an arm around his shoulder, which leads him to lean into me.

"Mhm-mm.. I do like stuff like this.. it makes a failed valentines actually quite successful.."
