When the bell rang, students poured to the hallways. Everyone had made it through the most difficult part of the day, first period.
In the mind of Y/N, however, this was not the case. The most upsetting part was that a hand was held in front of her at all times. Valentine's Day, the day she dreaded the most, has arrived.
She finally made her way through the crowd, sighing as she made her way to her locker. Just as she was ready to open it, she noticed a blue envelope peeking out of the side. Her brows were wrinkled and her lips was frowning. A puzzled expression appeared.
Entering the lock code she slipped the envelope out of its place. The envelope marked 'number 1' on it.
"you touched my hand you touched my scar you touched my fears that were far above
you touched my heart you touched my soul it was your actions that made my heart whole
and it was your touch that made me believe you felt the same" she mumbled.
Who could have written it? All of this physical contact... She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the purple patch of hair that was blocking her view of the letter. "Leave" was all she heard. Enough to pull her back into reality.
"Oh! Hey Mitsuya"
"Thanks for falling back down to Earth, you okay? You're wearing the face when you study math." he took her books out for the next class.
"And it's the same face you have when you're sewing" she cocked her head to the side.
Before they had to depart for the next lesson, they shared laughs and conversation. "Seriously, why were you so concentrated in that piece of paper that you were completely deaf?" Mitsuya asked.
"Eh, i'll tell you later," and she began to walk to her second period, history.
To say that history was boring would be an understatement. For a bit, the teacher had to leave the classroom. Of course, everyone was assigned a task, but no one did it. "OMG G/N asked me out" or "what are you doing for Valentine's Day" would be all you'd hear. She didn't choose to be deaf earlier, but she would now.
An origami crane slid over her desk as she was writing. She looked in the direction it had come from, but there was no one there. She didn't know anyone in this class, to begin with. So it's not like she had a lead of who threw it.
'Number 2' was written on the crane. Is it possible that it came from the same person who sent the envelope letter? Another poem was staged when she unfolded the paper. She read it to herself this time. People might try to snatch it or do anything close to what happens in cliché romance movies. Even though, they're not paying attention to her.
'you're too tangled in my soul but would you want to go with my flow?
at home, i feel low but with you I always glow'
She had no idea what was going on, but she was looking forward to the next period, with the next letter. They were getting creative. This Valentine's Day, she seems to have something to look forward to.
And as she expected, this process continued until her lunch period. No matter where she was or what she was doing, she would always receive successfully delivered poems. She even had one given to her in P.E.
She greeted the boys in front of her and placed her bento on the table. A hand reached for her strawberry as soon as she opened it. "HEY HANDS OFF," she said, slapping Hakkai's hand away and pinching it.
"OW you don't even bring bentos so where'd you even get that from" he retreated his hand.
"From my secret admirerrr," she couldn't help but notice Hakkai blushing before covering it up with a surprised expression.
He tossed his whole plate of food and dashed to the exit door, saying, "I uh need to go see you later Mitsuya, Y/N."
They just shrugged it off until he disappeared for the rest of lunch. After creating a duo search team with Mitsuya, Y/N eventually found him wandering in the hallway. He acted as if he were on the lookout.
She crouched behind a pillar because she wanted to see what he was up to. After entering the code, a flower-shaped card was inserted into her locker. He took a step back, but his attention was drawn to her outfit from a short distance. His face was flushed with embarrassment.
"You know, you're really creative for someone who fails art," she reveals herself, crossing her arms.
He stammered through his words, "I guess I don't put my heart into ite- I MEAN IT."
"But you say I definitely put my heart into you," she said as she opened her locker and took out the flower card, which she read aloud. Hakkai staring at her with disbelief.
"the whole world could crumble the stars could be falling from the sky i could die but the only thing i'd notice is you and i'd never blink for you're the world i need to survive"
She stared back at him. Their eyes not focusing on the students around them rushing to class, but the features of one another. "The sun is always shining. But it's the moon that helps it rest. So my moonshine, will you be my first valentine?"
Instead of a answer, she was left in a suffocating hug. "I was supposed to be the man and ask" Hakkai whispered.
