(This is my first real original chapter that takes place after the party in 'Double Dipper'. Enjoy!)

With the twins asleep in the attic, Stan lit a lantern and walked towards the vending machine. However, when he walked across the living room, he spotted something out of the corner of his eye and turned around.

There, sleeping soundly on the armchair with a blanket strewn across her, was Andie.

She'd changed into her pajamas: a white T-shirt that reached her knees and black sweatpants. Her hair was unkempt, strands poking out every which way. It was probably one of the few times Stan had ever seen her with her hair not in its usual ponytail.

Stan blinked, and for a split second, he saw a familiar form: a small preteen boy who looked much like he did when he was younger with messy, dark brown hair and glasses, fast asleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed.

His mind flashed back to what Andie had told him when he'd asked about her grandfather.

I haven't seen him in years....I think he was a scientist.

Could Andie be...? No, that was ridiculous; Ford had disappeared long before she was born. There was no way she could be related to him....could she?

Ford was really good at keeping secrets....

He shook the thought away before noticing something clutched in the girl's hand. Upon closer inspection, it was a photo...one that seemed all too familiar to him.

It was a photo of Stan side hugging his brother, Ford, with their parents behind the two. He flipped it over and saw writing on the back of it...

In handwriting that was very similar to Ford's.

It read:

10/29/1999

To whom it may concern,

Let it be known that I, Olivia Elizabeth Wilson, am the mother of young Andrea Emma Wilson. She was born a month ago, and I cannot provide for her, as her father is M.I.A. Her grandfather, and guardian if he so chooses to be, is Stanford Pines. If he doesn't accept or we don't hear back from him, the young girl will be transported to the Pacific Northwest Orphanage in Gravity Falls, Oregon.

Please take care of my Andie, whoever should be her caregiver.

Sincerely,

Olivia

The breath seemed to evaporate in Stan's lungs as he gazed down at the young girl, curled up and asleep in his armchair. He felt awful. If he hadn't had that fight with his twin brother and accidentally pushed him into the portal...

Ford would have been able to take guardianship over Andie.

The poor kid wouldn't have been in the woods in first place.

He sighed, scooping up the girl into his arms and trekking up the stairs to the attic. He walked quietly as to not wake Dipper and Mabel and deposited Andie in her sleeping bag, pulling it up to her chin.

Stan slowly walked away before gazing back at her.

"Don't worry, kiddo; I'll bring him back. I promise."
