Warning: Probably the most heartbreaking story I've ever written.
Kate's POV
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" I asked, biting my lip as Rose climbed across the roof.
She grinned, continuing until she reached the antenna. Anne followed after her, but more carefully.
"Of course. Once Anne works her magic, we'll be free to watch the greatest show ever." Rose told me.
"And if you guys fall off? Or get caught? Or electrocuted? Or it doesn't work? Or the roof tiles break? Or the antenna breaks? Or worse, get caught?" I asked.
"You said that last one twice." Anne told me, rolling her eyes as she settled down next to the device.
"Yeah, but it's the most important one! What if we went to jail!? For the rest of our lives!?" I worried.
"For fixing an antenna? Not likely." Anne replied.
"And if you get hurt?" I questioned.
"Oh have faith in us, midget sparkling." Rose scoffed.
I looked over at Ellah, who was silently observing.
"Tell them it's too dangerous!" I exclaimed.
"They're already up there." She said dully.
"But- but- Ugh!" I covered my face with my hands.
"You're such a baby." Rose laughed.
"You guys are going to get us all killed!" I hissed, looking back up.
Anne suddenly squeaked, jumping back as a giant spark came out. Rose quickly pulled off her jacket as a fire started and patted it out.
She looked at Anne, "Tell me you didn't just break it."
Anne leaned over and looked down at it, "No. It's fine. Let's go."
I sighed in relief, but said nothing. I waited patiently until they were off the roof and back on the balcony.
"I can't believe you're not mad." Rose exclaimed.
"Who said I'm not mad?" I asked, before lunging forward and attempting to tackle her.
Rose yelped and jumped back. My foot ran into the edge of the door frame and I faceplanted into the floor.
"Kate! Are you okay?" Anne asked, jumping forward.
"I'm fine." I said, glaring at Rose.
Rose laughed, leaning over as tears of mirth rained down her face.
Suddenly the T.V. turned on, the volume loud.
All of us turned toward the bedroom and saw Ellah holding the remote innocently while trying to turn down the volume.
I ran over to the door and locked it as the volume continued to rise.
"What's going on!?" Rose shouted as we listened to the Transformers Prime theme song music in high pitch.
She snatched the remote out of Ellah's hand and desperately tried to turn it off. I covered my ears, trying to block the loud screeching.
Anne ran to the T.V. and pulled the plug. Somehow, that didn't stop it at all.
I felt the door shake as someone pounded on it, but nothing could be heard over the deafening sound. We all covered our ears and ran to the balcony as the sound increased.
Suddenly, there was a bright flash-
"What in the Allspark?"
I uncovered my ears and looked up with wide eyes. Ratchet!?
