"Are you sure about this?" Logan eyed the metal wheel cautiously. No screams reverberated aside from the occasional clank of gears causing the contraption to move. The wooden seats didn't make creaks nor showed signs of disrepair, yet he remained as uncertain as ever. He wasn't afraid of heights, that's for sure, but the thought of the slow descent upwards the ferris wheel terrified Logan. What if it dropped down? What if the capsules moved and he fell out? What if they get stuck, left suspended above?

"It's going to be alright, Logan," Devin patted a hand behind his back. "Ferris wheels are the safest rides."

"I'm aware, but being up there, in a compacted space, with very little room to think, and very little space to move, is not my definition of safe."

Devin sighed but did not admonish him. "It won't be bad, I promise. You can ride alone too, if that's what you want."

Logan grimaced. It sounded way worse than being with someone else. No one would be able to know if he was still inside or had completely fallen off.

"Three people can fit," Sasha offered, noticing his expression. She gestured to people at the front—a trio-entering the ferris wheel passenger seats. One of them—an ogre—squealed with excitement and chatted immediately to her companions; a girl and a small boy with an eyepatch. The conductor closed the doors and stepped back on the platform as the capsule containing the most recent passengers joined in procession.

"It's our turn now," Devin's eyes followed the spinning wheel then nudged Logan. "Maybe Sasha and I can go first and I'll join you once we're back down? Just so I can prove that it's not bad at all."

"Fairy be, you don't have to Devin!" As much as Logan was scared, he didn't forget his manners. He was still a prince, and it did not seem right to let someone adjust for his expense, especially when it was a trivial matter. "If you say it's alright, then I guess it is."

Devin smiled and squeezed his shoulder.

"There!" Sasha pointed excitedly as one group exited from their seats. The doors opened out in invitation, beckoning the trio.

Logan heard someone cough. "Is it too late for me to come along?" A joyful-sounding voice spoke up behind them. Logan turned around to see a handsome raven-haired boy grinning from ear to ear. "Now don't look so surprised, Devin, I did say I was going to come along."

Sasha let out an exasperated noise. "Of all times you have to arrive, Heath." Her brows furrowed. She had been thinking he wasn't coming. He had left to retrieve his and his sister's belongings for their little trip to the seas. Raina had ordered him without a care, knowing full well he'd be flirting with every other citizen again if he returned back. It was funnier when they were younger, but it now grated Raina's nerves. "The seating capacity is only limited to three."

"Oh, that's alright," Heath replied, a hand brushing through his dark hair. A couple of girls at the back of the line giggled. "I can just ride with—"

"—Logan," Sasha interrupted. "You are riding with Logan." The princess reached out and gripped Devin tight around her left arm. She didn't wait for a reply as she pulled the other princess away. Devin made an "Oh" expression, shrugged, then waved at the boys. The conductor closed their doors, and off went the girls.

"Oh," Heath's expression crumbled. Logan shook his head and patted his friend on the back.

"I guess it's you and me, huh?" Heath recovered immediately, instantly plastering an eager smile as he faced Logan.
