I sit next to Isak by wall, knees to my chest. Where could he have gone? I'm sure if he got bitten or snatched away, we would've heard a yell or a scream. It's like he just vanished. Isak just has her arm around me, comforting me in her subtle actions. She's always been like this, ever since we met. Her actions always spoke louder than she did.

Suddenly, the noise of the intercom sounded through the room. We hear the announcements come on and we all look at each other in confusion before someone starts speaking.

"Students and teachers of Hyosan High School. Something strange is happening, students have... gone rabid. So please flee and find safety."

It's Ms. Park's voice. Her calming tone sends shockwaves through my body. I thought I would never hear her voice again. She instructs us calmly, "Get out if you can and stay safe."

I've lost so many people today. So many classmates I once knew. I'm glad Ms. Park is okay but I can't stop thinking about Suhyeok.

I stand up and look outside the window at the field. I don't even know if my parents are okay. I wish that they got to safety. Maybe they decided to take a random vacation like they usually do. I wish they left me a note and side dishes in the fridge, saying, "Be back soon, Love you." I wish they were somewhere in Jeju, far away from all this mess. I know I'm being ridiculous but a big part of me still hopes my parents made it out of Hyosan.

"Hey... Don't worry too much." Insak speaks calmly next to me, putting her hand on my shoulder. "Suhyeok is very athletic and he's fast runner," she says with a smile. She put her hand out, and I grabbed onto it. A tear slipping past my eyes. We sit like this for a few moments before I bring her hand to my face.

I smile for a second, nuzzling my face in her hand before I frown. I put my head back up before looking at her in confusion "Isak..." I say, my eyebrows furrowed. "What?" She says with a smile.

"Your hand..." I whisper. Her hand was cold to the touch, almost freezing. Isak looks down at her hand in confusion. "What's wrong?" She asks softly before letting go of my hand and putting up to her face. I see a spot of red coat her finger. Her nose is bleeding. "Isak?" I say with a shaky breath, tears filling my eyes.

No...

"What's going on?" Nayeon asks, getting up from her seat. "Were you bit?" Nayeon accuses seriously, stepping towards Isak. "No, I wasn't!" Isak yells, pleading with both Nayeon and I. She tries to wipe her nose but it's no use the blood just keeps coming. Everyone now looks over at us, staring in concern. Wujin shakes Daesu's arm, whispering, "She got bit."

"I mean it, seriously... I... I wasn't!" Isak starts to panic as everyone doesn't respond to her, knowing of her fate.

Running to the sink to look at her face in the mirror. She stops, frozen in fear. Her eyes bloodshot red, blood running down to her chin now. I take in a deep breath, covering my mouth with my hands. How did she get infected? I didn't notice a bite mark on her. Is touching the zombies all it takes? I touched her, does that mean I'll get infected now too?

"Hey, are you okay?" Gyeongsu jumps up and walks over to Isak by the sink. "Gyeongsu, get away from her." Daesu warns and Gyeongsu backs away slowly. Insak slowly turns and looks up at Onjo and I. "Gowoon... Onjo..." She says quietly, eyes desperate and pleading.

"Isak." I respond, walking up to her and holding her arms. Her eyes are now clouded in black, blood staining her uniform. "No... right?" She cries, breaking down in my arms. "I'm not like them right?"

Tears fills my eyes once more. I hug Isak, knowing what's to come. "I'm not!" She screams again, pushing me away from her. I stumble back from the hug and look at her, tears fall to my cheeks. I run up to her again, hugging her desperately. "No. Isak... don't go." I cry in her shoulder, not afraid that she'll bite me. She's my best friend, even if she does become a zombie, she'll know who I am. Right?
