"You'll become a great marine. Do not disappoint me."
"Yes, father." She lowered her head, not daring to look him in the eyes. "I can assure you I wont disappoint."
"Of course not," The admiral placed his hand on her head. "you're my child after all."
"Captain! Pirates spotted at the dock!"
She ignored the knocking on her door until it became apparent that the ensign wouldn't stop. How annoying, she thought. With all the paperwork she was required to do, some petty pirates didn't deserve her time.
"It's the red-hair pirates! We've gathered intel that they plan to remain docked for a number of months."
Of course, nearly two years into her position as a young marine captain and she was already going to face against a yonko. However, as strong as she may be she also knew her limits and with the current strength she possessed, a fight against any yonko would kill her.
In fact, just a fight against one of the seven warlords would be hard enough, especially since some of them were truly at yonko level. And yet, with all the communications down for six months, there was no way for her to call for backup or deliver a report to Marineford so for the time being she either needed to settle with a temporary peace with the pirates or to keep them under strict watch.
Masayoshi walked to stand in front of the red haired captain, her arms crossed and eyes lowered to a deadpan. Although her demeanor seemed calm she was much the opposite, a hatred for pirates burning in her gut as she gazed at the man but her father had raised her to keep a calm mind when facing her opponents.
Although, he did encourage scaring the absolute crap out of pirates. Too bad he barely raised her unless it was for training.
"Are you looking for a fight?" The red head placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, quirking an eyebrow in a way that almost seemed mocking and only served to anger her. She stared at him for a few more seconds before speaking up, cautious of the way his crewmen stared her down in warning.
"As long as you don't cause trouble, we will leave you alone."
That caught him off guard. "What?"
"Do you lack basic hearing abilities?" The ravenette nearly gritted out, her pride already deteriorating with each word that left her mouth. "I'm not so stupid as to believe I could beat a yonko at the moment. It would only cause harm for me, but if you do anything to harm the civilians I will do everything in my power to stop you."
"Huh, you're the first marine I've met who uses logic-where are you going?" He blanched when she turned and began walking away, the large coat with the word 'JUSTICE' plastered on the back waving up and down with each step she took. Shanks was stunned with her behaviour, not only did she come to confront him alone and threaten him but she'd even turned her back on him like he was a nuisance. Well, seeing as how she is a marine, a nuisance is all he probably is in her eyes.
"I've done what I need to, no further discussion is needed."
The yonko tilted his head as if she was challenging him and a hand settled on his shoulder tightly. He looked to the right at his first mate who shook his head, saying they should take this chance to have a peaceful number of months as they were invited here by a young lad.
Shanks seemed to light up at the thought of some beer, happily walking towards the bar almost with a skip in his step while his crew laughed in amusement and followed closely behind. As Benn walked beside his captain, he thought about the girl who had so easily warned them and wondered if he had seen her before.
