We are in a car, Teresa next to me, we are talking to one another. Slowly adjusting my glasses as I drive through town. What is that? A light beam? It's coming too fast! Shit!

"TERESA!"

I got up and I'm drenched in sweats. It was just a dream. I shift to bedside and sighed. What was that dream? Suddenly Teresa grabs my hand half asleep..

"Please, don't leave me."

She said that with her eyes closed and tears slowly drip from the corner of her eyes. Is she having a bad dream too? I hold her hand firmly and kiss her forehead.

"I'm right here, babe. I'm right here..."

I slip myself next to her and hugs her as close as I can.

"Hush now, everything is going to be okay."

TUESDAY

6 A.M

Alarm wakes both of us up. I sit up and look to Teresa. She sits up as well, with her messy hair and swollen eyes...swollen? Has she been crying this whole night? But nevertheless, she greets me with the brightest smile.

"Morning."

She kisses my cheeks and get off from the bed. She proceeds to make her way to the kitchen with lively steps.

"Morning, Buddy! Time for breakfast!"

I smile at Buddy and go to the kitchen as well. Brewing coffee pot for both of us while she is cooking Buddy's meal and our meal as well. Two sunny side up and a strip of bacon. Smell delicious!

"I'll warm the bath for you, you take of the breakfast, Teresa."
"Okie dokie! Here is your meal, Buddy."

I go to the bathroom and fill the bathtub with warm water. Dip my hand, its warm. I can't stop thinking about last night. Is Teresa really wants to be a parent that bad? What if I tell her that I'm not ready, or worse, I don't want to be one? What if I'm going to be a bad influence to my kids? What are my kids going to say if they see their daddy spends 5 minutes at the driveway, reflecting how hard life is? Or worse, what if I can't afford a place for us to live? Wh-

"Honey, breakfast is ready!"

Shut up, inner voice. Make the best of it for her, will you?

"I'm coming."

I sit next to her.

"How's the water?"
"It is ready to go."

She kisses me on cheek

"Thanks!"

8 a.m

Once we are done with the breakfast and shower and everything, we are both heading out to work. Since we are both commuting to our workplace, we walk the same path.

As usual, she walks so lively and hums a music with her mouth. Can't stop myself smiling when looking at her

"And tadaaa! The bus stop."

Letting out a little laugh and crack a smile. 2 minutes later, first bus.

"My bus! See you tonight! Don't forget your lunch okay? Don't stress yourself out. Love you."

She enters the bus and waves at me. The bus then moves.

"3 meter...5 meter..."

I whisper to myself.

"20 meter...100 meter..."

As the bus is slowly fade into the horizon. I've been asking myself, what if the number don't stop and never stop? Will I still keep counting? 1 kilometer...5 kilometer...100 kilometer...

I never thought that day will come. I lost count after awhile back then.
