"How come I always find you cooking or baking something?" Loki entered the kitchen with a smile."Well, your brother ate all the cookies already so I have to make all new ones for the party." you stated, holding up a spoon with royal icing on it. He took it, then used the spoon to smear icing all over your mouth. "You ass-"
You were muted by his lips on yours. At that, all the hidden, buried and ignored feelings burst to the surface. You felt your cheeks burning, and your stomach flipping around as the two of you kissed. The subtle taste of royal icing lingered after he pulled back.
"I-" and then he was gone, leaving you flushed and stunned.
"Ooh! It smells good in here!" Wanda skipped in, taking a seat across from where you were stood. "Yn? Are you okay? You look flushed."
"I just.... he did... I... we...." you stammered, picking up the spatula that was dropped. You looked at the time 4:25. "SHIT!" you shouted. "I'm gonna be so late to practice!!" you rushed around, dumping empty bowls in the sink and tying off icing bags.
"Just calm down, I'll get it." Wanda slid to your side, taking the mixing bowl from your hands.
"No, I won't make y-" she shushed you, then gave you a push.
"Hurry."
.................
Usually, ballet was your release, but now it was just a new setting to think about that kiss. As you warmed up at the barre, you dove into your thoughts.
One half of you wanted more than anything to kiss him back, and be more than friends.
The other half didn't want to ruin the close friendship you two had. Years of friendship, through literal space and time.
"Miss Yn." you heard the annoyed voice of your teacher call. Turning, you saw that everyone had begun to put their pointe shoes on, you were the only one still at the barre.
"Sorry." you muttered, going to your bag.
"Today we will be going over Nutcracker parts individually." your teacher began. "Clara, Rat King, Nutcracker and Sugarplum are the first group, and in that order. Lana will announce the next group." she walked out of the practice room, and Bella, who was Clara, followed.
Now was prime time for nitpicking and tough feedback, since the show days were only a week away. You were cast as the Coffee Princess, and a boy named David was your partner.
"Zone out much?" Alej, the boy cast as the Rat King asked, offering you a hand. He was sweet, a barista by day working his way to becoming professional ballet dancer.
"Yeah, I just got smacked with a reality check earlier."
"Spill." he said, taking a spot on the barre across from you.
"Just-" you looked around and lowered your voice, "-someone I think I have feelings for kissed me out of the blue and I'm freaking out."
Alej screeched, sounding like a bird. "Seriously?" he popped up en pointe as you nodded. "You think you have feelings?"
"I don't know-" you copied his move. "- I mean, doesn't everyone get that feeling when someone kisses them?"
"Uh, no?" Alej laughed. "Usually if you feel something, it means you have feelings."
"Then what should I do? I don't wanna ruin our friendship..."
"This could be better." he started doing simple movements, along with the soft music someone had turned on.
