Dress shopping during the holidays. A nightmare wrapped in red and green. It was your fault, you had forgotten to buy a decent dress for your dad's party. The party was in less than five days, and today was the only day you had free. Tomorrow was opening night for The Nutcracker, after that was your "Friendsmas" with Peter, Shuri, and the other younger heroes. It was hosted in Wakanda this year, so you would be flying most of the day. After Friendsmas there was the formal dinner your dad insisted on having. Christmas Day would be full of last minute prep, showing off for the paparazzi and going to the party.
You were damn lucky that Wanda and Loki wanted to join you in your quest for a dress. Loki was there more as a bodyguard, since, in his words; "the chaos poses easy cover for any ill wishing cretin to attack."
"What about this one?" Wanda pulled a red dress from what remained of the store's stock. The place was down to its bare bones in terms of, well, everything.
"Too much skin. I have seen so many nasty posts about my weight."
"I should hunt them all down...." Loki mumbled, sifting through the dresses. He held one up, then shook his head. He had picked clothe out for you before, you trusted him. Sure, you could have worn the dress he gifted you, but it was too much for a Stark party. Tony's parties were less formal, more..... let's get friggin wrecked!!!! In our tight pants!!!
"Try these on, lo-" Loki paused, drawing out the "o" as he looked over at Wanda, who was pondering over a blue gown.
"Thanks, Loooooooooo" you smirked, poking fun at him. "Be right back!"
Every. Single. One. Was. PERFECT!
The fit, the style, all different yet equally gorgeous. There was only one left, and you weren't so sure it would look good on you. It has a deep v neckline that intimidated you. You pulled the black dress on. It was made of velvet and had flecks of silver all over, looking like straight in the night sky.
"Alright you holiday hoe-hoe-hoes, this is the one!" you stepped out of the dressing room and Wanda's jaw dropped. You caught a blush creeping across Lokis face. "Good, no?"
"Very." Loki half squeaked.
.......(a quick pov switch).....
"By the nine she looks good...." Wait. What? Shit, did I say that out loud?
"You okay there, Loki?."
No, not at all. My kærasta is so beautiful I forgot how to function.
"Yes. Quite alright." Idiot. Bumbling, stumbling absolute idiot.
"So, should I get it or not?"
Yes! Wait, no. All the men will be after her. Shut up, she can do as she pleases.
"You did not just ask that question." Wanda skipped next to Y/n. "Move, buy it before our bodyguard malfunctions."
Malfunction? I'm not malfunctioning. I'm perfectly fine. Right.
The two had disappeared. I was now alone in the dress department. Where in the nine did they go? I was their escort. They couldn't have just.... left?
"Can't be far....." I muttered, beginning to look around the store.
A laugh came from my left. I knew that laugh. The same one I hear along with Thor's when I find his hammer on my books. The laugh I hear when an exceptionally unfunny scene comes on during a serious movie.
.............(back to our regularly scheduled pov)...........
You shouted, leaping from within the dress rack, along with Wanda. Loki let out a startled yelp as you tackled him, accidentally taking him to the floor. You hadn't expected to scare him that much. You landed on his chest, straddling his waist. Before you could move, you heard the sound of a phone camera going off.
"Finally. Some good blackmail." Wanda hummed, putting her phone away. "You two are pathetically bad at hiding it."
You scrambled to your feet. "Hiding- hiding what?"
Wanda let out a witchy cackle. "Don't play dumb. I can read minds. Yes, Loki I heard you."
Loki stammered, putting a hand to his head.
"Tell anyone, and you're dead." you glared.
..............
