"Hey!" Scott spotted Peter just as he walked in. "Pete! You showed up!"

Peter walked to the bar, "of course Scott, I'm a man of my word."

"So what do I make for you?" Scott asked while Peter sat down, "how about we both do a shot?" Scott reached down for two shot glasses.

Peter wasn't much of a drinker, but he felt this is the least he could do for Scott, show him a real appreciation of his care for him.

After they downed the shots Scott introduced him to the regulars at the bar, which easily became Scott's friends, or was it the opposite, Peter didn't really paid attention.

"And this is Nathan" Scott gestured towards a blonde man, about the same age as Peter's, but taller. His eyes were this weird green and gray. Peter felt something off about the guy, like he wasn't all he seemed.

"Hey man," Nathan shook his hand, "nice to meet you."

Peter nod his head, "yeah, nice to meet you too."

"Nate love! There you are!" The boys' head was thrown back to the thick Australian accent they heard, there she walked towards them, a gorgeous woman, smiling from ear to ear, grabbing onto Nathan's arm.

"Where else would I be babe?" Nathan kissed her on the lips, almost as if he was marking his territory. When he looked back at Peter he had a smirk on his face, "babe look, that's right here is Peter, he's new in town."

"Oh how lovely! I'm Lola" the woman extended her hand, which Peter took. "Welcome to the big city! I know what you're going through, I came here a year ago, lucky for me I ran into the right people." Lola was smiling to Nathan who pulled her by the waist. Peter was never a fan of PDA, but honestly, it seemed like everyone was a bit too tipsy, or maybe it was just him, he hoped not.

"So?" Lola was looking back at Peter, she was definitely somewhat drunk, or maybe even something else, "you've got yourself some right friends?" she was smirking like she was hinting something. Peter hoped she wasn't talking about what he thought about.

"I uh-"

"That's okay kid," Nathan said, hands still on Lola's waist, "we don't bite, we're friendly most of the time." He laughed and planted a kiss on Lola's cheek.

Peter looked over to Scott, wishing he could save his ass. "Guys, come on," Scott chuckled, "don't scare the boy, I just got him to come here." Scott send Nathan a knowing look.

"No, no Scott!" Lola laughed, "we just want to help Peter!" She was now grabbing Peter arm, "how about we find you some one?" Lola smirked at him.

"Uh no, I don't-" Peter felt blush creeping onto his cheeks.

"Oh come on Pete! You're a pretty boy," her arm brushed up and down his arm, "I'm sure it's never been a problem to you." She winked at him, Nathan send him a glare, not smiling anymore.

"Yeah, I- I don't know about that." Peter stammered.

A scream pierced the place, it was far away, maybe blocks away. Peter's body tingled.

"What was that?" Peter shook Lola's hand away. Everyone else in the bar seemed unfazed.

"It was just a scream dude," Nathan said, "New York baby, gotta love it!" He than took a look in his watch, he wore a big black Rolex, again, not Peter's favorite, but it didn't surprise him that Nathan was that kind of guy.

"Yeah," Scott said, making Peters look away from Nathan's actions. "You get used to it."

Then they heard an explosion. Now people started to freak out, running around. Scott started calming everyone down. Peter cursed himself in his head, 'how could I left my suit?'. He noticed Nathan and Lola were unfazed, they were whispering between themselves, Nathan pulled his phone from his back pocket, only to answer a call that lasted maybe two sentences, followed by Nathan grabbing Lola's hand, leading her out of the bar.

Peter was sure of it, it has something to do with him. He dwelled for a second, thinking whether he should go back to his place and get his suit, or just go for it, suit or no suit.

He decided against the second option, seeing as he'd never leave his web shooters at home. He took off the bar, not before making sure Scott was too busy calming the costumers.  Peter put on his hoodie, and shot a web, going up to the rooftops. He ran for something like two blocks before he hard yelling from a nearby parking lot.

"Are you fucking stupid?!" He recognized Nathan, he knew it.

"Nate, chill man, she's probably won't show up again." There something like three people. all dressed in black, head's covered with ski masks, they all held weapons. 'What is going on here?' Peter thought.

"No man! I won't chill!" Nathan yelled again, he threw his hands to pull on his hair, Lola was behind him, reaching his hand to sooth him on his back. "Look," Nathan now whispered-yelled, "you don't get it, that kid is a genius, she could ruin it all, I know her." He sounded truly frustrated.

"I know Nate," one of the guys took his mask off and walked over to Nathan, "but trust me, we used a grenade, there's no way she's gone that far." his hand was on his shoulder.

"You gotta find her," Nathan sighed, "dead or alive, she can't get away." He then turned around and started walking, then he stopped and looked up, he had this weird feeling he was being watched. The people around him noticed, now looking up as well. Peter swiftly pressed himself against the floor, wishing they didn't see him.

"Stop being so paranoid babe," He heard Lola's voice, her accent was hard to forget. "Let's go home okay?"

Peter stayed down for a few seconds, making sure they were not looking anymore, then he stood back up, watching the people all go their own way. He looked down at his phone, the screen showed it was 1:37 am, he used to be up at this time, watching over the city, but he felt so tired already, so he decided he won't put on his suit tonight. He swinged back to his apartment, opening the door and heading to his bed.

His head was filled with thoughts, for the first time it wasn't about his life a month ago. He wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, he wanted to think about MJ, wondering if she's awake at this time of the night, but his mind kept going back to Nathan, and Lola, and those guys with the masks, and the genius they'd talked about. He was going to find out what was it all about. 'Right people my ass' was Peter's last thought as he drifted to sleep.
