Y/N POV:
As the lesson began the teacher said in his brooding voice
"Please turn to page 415 and begin reading. May I remind you I mean read in silence."
I began to feel my nerves rise ad I wouldn't have my books until tomorrow. I worked the courage within me to raise my hand. As my hand slowly went up I hear a plop sound on my desk. My hand still slowly rising I look over and it's him. He places his book in between us. I stared for a moment before realizing what was going on my hand was still in the air.
"Yes ms.Y/N."
The teacher's voice sucked me back into reality.
"Oh sorry, sir...Um, I was going to ask. if I could share a book with...um..."
Crap I hadn't gotten his name.  The boy leaned over and whispered
"Dee"
"Dee...can I share a book with Dee..mine won't be in my possession until tomorrow."
"Yes Y/N you may share a book with Dee. He is my brightest student so ask him questions if you don't understand that text."
And with that, the teacher went back to reading whatever he was reading.
God, I must have sounded stupid stumbling trying to remember a name I didn't even know. I placed my hand back in its place on my lap and began scanning the text.
Hmm. I already learned about this in my other school. I'm pretty sure it was the last lesson we were on. I left the book behind and went into my bag.
I knew I had my old notebook in here somewhere. I rummaged around a bit longer and found it.
"Aha!"
I said aloud causing dee to look my way. Before I could meet his gaze I shifted my eyes down and apologized.

Dee's POV
a little into the lesson the teacher asked the class to pull out their books. Against my own will I pulled my book out. I noticed Y/N looked panicked. She didn't have her books did she. I saw her hand raise slowly and that's when I decided to make the first move to try and get closer to her and learn more. I plopped my book down. I must've surprised her by doing it because she looked over and still let her hand hang in the air.
"Yes ms.Y/N."
The teacher called her.
"Oh sorry, sir...Um, I was going to ask. if I could share a book with...um..."
She was frantically trying to say or remember my name. I'm not sure I had given it to her earlier so I leaned over and whispered my name.
"Dee...can I share a book with Dee..mine won't be in my possession until tomorrow."
She was quick with her response and so was the teacher.
"Yes Y/N you may share a book with Dee. He is my brightest student so ask him questions if you don't understand that text."
I got a little excited about the fact we were going to share a book.
We began reading, well she did I just blankly stared at the book taking quick glances over at her. She seemed to pause a remember something. She quickly turned to her bag a few pieces of hair falling from the messy bun sitting on her head. I tried not to stare but I did take quick glances. She was looking for something in her bag.
"Aha!"
She cried out. It caught my attention enough for me to fully look over at her.
It was kinda cute and funny but she soon apologized and went back to staring down.

Y/N POV
I kept my focus down for a second before I opened my notebook. I flipped through the pages until I reached the page I last filled with notes.
I knew it.
I placed my finger on the words in the notebook and matched them to the book.
Dee was still looking at me. He look curious as to what I was looking at.
I cleared my throat and began to speak
"We did this lesson at my old school....see."
I pulled the notebook onto the table and began pointing out the words on my paper and the matching words in the book.

DEE'S POV
My gaze continued to focus on her as she flipped through her notebook. She reached a page filled with notes. Her finger grazing the page and her eyes shifting between the text book and her notes. She finally caught my gaze and spoke up.
"We did this lesson at my old school....see."
Her voice was so soft and polite.
She pulled the notebook from her lap and began showing me her notes and the words printed in the book.
I took this time to study her. She was very thin and pale but looked graceful. Her slim fingers were polished with a white polish. Her movements were purposeful and complete but also very gentle.
I kept studying her as she showed me the pages and words. She must have caught on because I heard my name spoken by her soft voice.
"Dee? Are you ready to flip the page?"
"Oh sorry hun I got distracted."
We read on I stopped studying her just in case she caught on.
