Chapter 19: Finally over

Everything was going well. You were holding on better than you expected, but it wasn't enough.

"L/n! Get over here!" You heard kid yell. Turning around, a tired smile grew on your face. They had managed to cause a malfunction in the machine, and created a chance to escape.

Following kid, you eventually managed to escape the marine weapon. As you and kenji boarded kidd's ship, a huge wave of relief came rushing at you. With the stress on your mind gone, fatigue and the side effects came at you full force, causing your vision to get blotchy.

"Ah..." You grabbed kidd's fur coat and tugged it gently to get his Attention. When he turned to look at you, you were ready to collapse. "I think you might need to take care of me for a few days." You said before completely passing out. Before you could hit the floor, kenji caught you and handed you over to kid.

"She likes you. So You better take care of her you red-head fuck."

When you woke up, the first thing you saw was kenji, standing near the door. Sitting up, you groaned, notifying your swordsman of your consciousness.

"Y/n-san!"

"Kenji. How many ways was i out?" You ask as he made his way next to you. "About 3 days. We're already in the new world. Currently, we're making our way to the next island, though it would take a while." He said as you hummed.

"I want food. And please inform kidd's crew. We'll spend some time here since it'll take a while for our crew to get there." You said as kenji nodded, and left the room.

You rubbed your head before standing up. Your clothes seems to have been changed by someone. Kid's crew seem to be all males, so you hoped it was either kid himself, or killer that had changed you. Well, at least it was only your top that was changed.

You let out a small sigh in relief. You don't remember choosing to go berserk. It happens sometimes when your emotions take control, or you overuse your devil fruit.

A few minutes later, Kenji returned with some food. You ate it without hesitation, and once you finished, you placed the plate down.

"I'm going to clean myself up."

Walking out to the deck, you spot kidd talking to killer and a few other of his crew members. You happily jumped over to him, and waited silently by his side for him to finish up his conversation.

"Kidd." You began after the ones he was talking to walked away. "First off, thanks for taking care of me. Second, i seriously need to know your plans for the next few weeks or so. I've been out for three days, so i'm assuming we're a bit far in the new world." You said as kidd listened to you talk with his arms crossed.

"And your plans to try and take down shanks too. I mean, i'll stay with you guys for a bit before my crew arrives, the we'll have to go our separate ways again. But of course, i'll come visit occasionally."

After you finished talking, kidd answered your requests, even though he had a scowl on his face. There was no news about straw-hat luffy yet, so you had to assume he was somewhere, and wasn't captured by the marines.

Timeskip to a week later

(Idk how long it was from sabaody to post-marineford, but i'm just gonna say it was a week-)

You were currently on an island with kid and his crew. It's been around a week since you woke up, and there was finally some news about luffy. Looking over kidd's shoulder, with your arm against kidd's shoulder, you scanned the newspaper he was holding.

"So he was alive, mugiwara no luffy..." Kidd said as you stood up, removing your arm. "And he even rang the bell 16 times in marineford to start a new era. What's this ox bell?"

"The ox bell is a holy bell from the ox lloyd's." Killer answered. "A marine ship that was of great significance long ago. At year end, they ring the bell eight times to give thanks to the old year, and then another eight times to welcome the new year."

"Seriously?" You say glancing at killer. During this one week, you've gotten pretty close to killer, and you can consider him a friend.

"Yes. So it is a marine custom to ring it 16 times. That is the meaning behind the 16 bells."

"But it's not that time yet, so we can only assume he rang it to announce the start of a new era?"

"Yes." He said simply.

He returned to marineford to ring that bell... "Ace..." You muttered to yourself. If you weren't unconscious, you would have went to marineford in an attpent to save him from execution. Because you were deep in your thoughts, you missed kid glancing at you quickly.

"I'm not gonna let him do whatever he wants!" Kid said and stood up, you following behind him closely as he stood outside in the rain. "The new world, I thought it'll be interesting, but what's with all these pussies?" Kidd and his crew had captured another pirate group who was trying to leave the new world. It was obvious that he was looking down at them.

"Give me a break! We didn't even do anything to you!" The captain of the group yelled. "We were on our way out of these seas, Please just let us go back to paradise alive!" He pleaded as you clicked your tongue, returning to the current situation.

"Pathetic." You mutter with a small glare.

"Paradise? You wanna go back to your warm cozy homes?"

"You just got here! You have no idea what horrors you have in store for you! If we stay here, we're all just gonna die! All we want is to go back to paradise! We're begging you!"

You let a small laugh at this. "Aren't you people pirates? What's up with all this begging? Why so cowardly? This isn't someplace for you to play pirate you know?"

Kidd began gathering the weapons scattered around the ground as the captain of the pirate group's eyes widened. "You're such a... If you're not prepared to die, then stay the fuck out of these seas!" And with that, he slammed the giant metal arm down on them. The pirates were then tied to crosses, a huge nail was pierced through their captain, finally ending his misery.

You paused when your den den mushi rang. You glanced at kid before picking it up. The moment you did though, a extremely loud voice came from the other end.

"CAPTAINNNNNNN!"

You winced and held the transporter snail further away from you. The one who yelled was Aku, your interrogator. Other then his yelling, there was something happening in the back as well.

"Stop yelling! Are you trying to make me go deaf?!" You cursed as the other side fell silent, including the background noise.

"Now what do you need? Why are you calling now?!" You ask and spot killer glancing at you.

"Captain! I'm sorry! You... You told us to get away from the island and we did but we were a bit slow to gather and the marines were chasing us, there is also a new girl here, then we had to-"

"Okay. Stop. I get it. Now what was happening in the back?" You said as your voice grew colder. "My Ship better not be damaged!"

"Ah! Yes of course y/n-sama! It's not damaged at all! We just ran into some trouble and the crew had a small fight... Anyways! Besides that where are you now y/n-san? The vivere card keep moving and we're having a bit of trouble..."

"I'm with Eustass's crew right now. Kenji's here too." You said and glanced at kidd who was talking to killer at the minute, and you smiled subconsciously. You didn't know because of the mask, but killer had caught you looking at his friend with a smile. "Just follow the card. We'll be stopping at the next island for a bit. But hurry over." you said as aku quickly responded positively. You hanged up and walked back to kidd and killer.

"Shall we go then?"
