The ticking sound of the clock was prominent, filling her ears as she walked through the halls. Her heels from her boots crashing against the floor also made a sound, it was an unprecedented sound—a way to announce her arrival.

The guards opened the door to the office, staring at her with a skeptic look. Entering the office, the man who was sitting on his desk turned around, eyes meeting her violet orbs.

"Welcome back, Jung Haneul." Haneul snickered, looking at the young man in front of her.

"I see that you're out of the hospital early, General."

"Yes, I exclusively asked to be dismissed early after acknowledging that you disappeared," Jeno began. "So tell me, where have you been?"

"Confidential business." She said simply.

"Must I remind you of our working contract? You must not do anything outside my watch." He declared sternly, earning a chuckle from the young woman. "If I may, sir, it is related to our business. I'm only afraid it will turn into a mishap if I tell you now,"

Jeno pursed his lips, despite sensing her sarcasm he knew her well enough to not act impulsively, hence every single action she takes must have a purpose.

"Oh come on," Haneul cooed, folding her arms on her chest. "Don't fret it too much."

"Then why are you here?"

Haneul shurgged, turning to walk towards the window. The last time she was here, the window had been broken down by bullets shot by hitmen. She also ended up killing people in the hallway, not a pleasant memory to recall. "Because I know you'll look for me once you get out, am I wrong?"

Jeno took a few seconds to reply, only staring at her back as she did not even bother to turn around.

"No, you're right."

Stepping into the dark chamber, her demeanor could be sensed even from metres away. The grim atmosphere matched her aura, ominous.

As she grabbed her gun, her black trench coat was pushed back, perfectly displaying her black dress. Her hands, covered with black lace gloves, felt the rigged surface of the gun. She was called to help out the professional torture unit, hence her arrival here was not a surprse.

Nevertheless her strong character never failed to alarm everyone.

"It's odd of you to call me, Beomgyu. If you have the guts to contact me then this must be something serious." She questioned, eyes sharp as a sword, a playful smirk displayed on her face.

"Haneul, I appreciate you helping us here," Beomgyu spoke. He was the fourth out of five executives in Noir Mafia. Haneul is in control of the attack and assassination unit, while Beomgyu is the leader of the professional torture unit. "This rat broke into our second base, he still haven't confessed who they're working for."

Her smirk was immediately wiped out of her face as she took a closer look at the man tied to the wall. She put her gun back, taking out her handy knife. She flipped the knife in her hand, the silver blade reflected the light.

Haneul was known for being the expert in interrogation and manipulation. She could easily make her captives spill every questions she asked in minutes. Amongst all of the executive, she was the most formidable.

"You want me to cut your fingers," she trailed, cutting the man's arms with her blade as she went on with her words. "Or spill it out, hm?"

The men screamed in agony, gritting his theeth in annoyance. "I'm not telling you hyporcrites anything!"

Haneul looked at him with an unreable look, only making the situation even more tense. "Guess we have no choice then,"

She twisted her knife before pushing it straight into the man's abdomen. Once again, he yelled to the point his throat hurted. Beomgyu look at the sight before him with an uneasy feeling, watching Haneul did her job.

She twisted the knife, earning another painful shriek from him. Haneul leaned in closer to the man's ears, "I know you have a brother, do you want his future to be taken away from him completely? I believe that's not something you want,"

Cold sweat dripped down his forehead, beginning to feel terrified. He felt his heart dropped to his stomach as he heard her mentioning his brother. He did not know how she found out about this, but he sensed something bad from her—something heinous.

"I can cut off your pretty little brother's future in just a few seconds. What's his name again, Han Joonhwi? He works as a reporter in—"

"Alright I'll tell you! I'll tell you. Just please, leave my brother alone." He pleaded, eyes glistening with fear. Haneul curved a wicked smile, pulling out the knife. "Why were you in our base?"

"I was tricked into believing that I just need to deliver a message. The moment I got here they changed the command to take down the attack unit." He confessed.

Haneul had seen this coming, the incident a few days ago which resulted to killing a good number of her subordinates was a good proof of that. "And?"

"I was told specifically to kill the boss if I happen to run into him."

Haneul frowned. "Alone?"

"Yes, alone."

Only a lunatic would send a man into a mafia base, kill the entire attack unit along with the boss. There was only one lunatic that would do that. "Who are you working for?"

"I don't know her full name, but I heard her friend called her Hyunjoo."

That was all the information they needed. As for Haneul, she already knew from the start, she had a hunch. But they still needed a solid proof to it, which had just been proven by Haneul herself.

"Alright, good job old man," she turned around, walking away from him as she stood in front of Beomgyu. "There, I'm done here right?"

Beomgyu nodded, one question still lingering inside his mind. "How'd you know he has a brother?"

"He's a hitman. He wouldn't speak up because he was protecting someone. Normally, hitmen are people who were previously abandoned by their parents. So assuming he does not have any parents and wife due to his wrinkled shirt, I assumed he has a brother."

"And the name and job?"

Haneul smirked. "Why don't you figure it out yourself, eh?"

"I have to go now," she patted his shoulder, making her way back to the door. "I have things to take care of."

"Son Hyunjoo?"

The young woman turned around, her wicked smile still perfectly plastered on her face. She did not bother to mutter a single word, but her expressions were clear enough to elaborate her intentions.
