Entering the hospital room, Haneul had an indifferent look on her face. She knew what was awaiting for her, so she held her head up high.

Her subordinates opened the door for her, leaving her alone to talk with her own boss. He was peacefully watching a tv, wearing the hospital gown as he will be treated here for a couple more days.

He turned his head upon her arrival, a simple smile was visible on his face. "So Haneul, I presume this is what you meant by sacrifice."

Yesterday, when Mark got shot on his way to enter the headquarters, Wonwoo was also stabbed. However unlike Mark, he was only stabbed once.

Haneul pursed her lips. "Yes, boss. I couldn't tell you before because I know you'd—"

"Refuse?" He cut her off, a trail of chuckle leaving his mouth. "You know, every night I look up towards the ceiling, waiting for you to come and slit my throat. Because I know for a fact you are the only one who can replace my position as the boss,"

Haneul stayed quiet. Though he was true, she could easily kill him if she wanted.

"But I know for now you won't. So, care to elaborate your plan?"

"I'm letting her think she has the upperhand as she managed to harm the leader of Noir Mafia and the government himself. Then we will come at her, the moment she thinks she has control of everything."

Wonwoo nodded, finding her plan rather amusing. "What makes you think it will work?"

"Because the person who makes the first move always win," she paused. "That's what you said."

Wonwoo smirked, leaning his back on the hospital bed. Out of all the mafioso and people he has raised in this organization, Haneul was the only one who almost made it to his level. They were awfully similar.

Which was why he was afraid that one day, she might just kill him easily to take his place.

"So, what's your next move?" Wonwoo asked, earning a furtive smile from the executive. "A ball party."

"Good afternoon, my lord." The butler greeted, bowing as the Marquess of Mortshire entered the manor.

Jeno cracked a thin smile, hurridly walking passed him towards his father's reading room. He barged the door open, revealing his father who stood silently with a letter in his hand. He was standing in front of the fireplace, face miffed.

"Lee Jeno, elaborate." He said sternly, looking at him with sharp gaze.

Jeno panted, looking at him with a desperate look. He knew how much his father desipised the mafia and respected his brother. This incident was like throwing an insult right to his face.

"Father listen," he began, breath uneven. "I didn't know about this, truly. She did say some things about sacrifice being made but—"

"And that is by letting your brother die?"

"He won't die, father," Jeno abruptly corrected. He was never the type to go against his father or talk back to him, unlike Donghyuck. But in this situation, he felt very wronged. "She has a plan, this was a part of it. She's playing the long game."

His father scoffed, looking away from him. "Kill her when you're done with this."

Jeno stared at him with a dazed look, shaking his head. "I can't. I'm only following Mark-hyung's order."

"So you're going against me?" He questioned, cocking an eyebrow. "Yes, I am."

His father took a few seconds to comprehend his answer, a sigh left his lips soon after that. He glanced at the letter in his hand. Originally, he wanted to burn it into ashes. But instead of doing that, he took the letter away from the fire, handing it to him.

"This was delivered for you earlier. Just get rid of her once you're done."

His father walked out of the room, leaving Jeno there, still stunned. He looked down on his hand, seeing the silver envelope. He opened it, revealing an invitation to a ball party.

He frowned, he never agreed to attend any party this upcoming week. At least not under his knowledge. It could not also be his father since he would inform him beforehand if there was a party.

He then found a small note inside the envelope, a small paper with a rather neat handwriting. As soon as he read it, he knew who this was from.

A smile unknowingly flickered across his face like a hologram, feeling like an idiot for following every single one of her moves. He knew she had another plan coming up, so he could not just stop right here.

You better come, General. You don't want me to force you, right? Oh and one more, please wear something else other than black.
