[y/n]

it's been a few weeks since I came to Encanto. Surprisingly, I quickly adapted to my new life. Tio Diego and Primo Marco were very patient with me as I learned how to make beautiful cloth. In no time, I was already able to effortlessly complete customers' orders and help out with major projects. Like Tio's upcoming line of 'Summer Blizz' themed clothes, he's going to sell to nearby towns. Though I couldn't help out much, it still felt nice knowing I could help by sewing on laces and beads to his designs.

The Madrigals were also a big part in helping me cope with my loss and finding a footing in life, especially Camilo. Without him, I would've tried to end my existence and run away out of Encanto. Somehow he was always there whenever I almost made a stupid mistake. Speaking of him, I think it's about time for me to meet up with him at the plaza.

I slowly made my way to my giant wardrobe filled with beautiful dresses my Tio made for me and chose a simple short-sleeved white shirt with the mark of my family as Tio told me, a golden butterfly on its left chest. He made sure to put it on all my shirts. I asked why but he would only smile and told me to read the family book, which up until now, I still left in the bottom drawer of my dresser collecting dust. The mark was small and hardly visible from far but it makes me happy every time I see it. I then picked out a blue pleated skirt that's embroidered with beautiful white orchids with a hint of pink down its core. It amazes me to see Primo Marco's gentle heartfelt works on his designs such as this skirt. He's the one in charge of making embroideries and stamping on the clothes in the shop.

To finish my look for the day, I brushed my hair and put on the hairclip Camilo gave me on our day out last week to make so none of my h/c hair strays on my face. I could just tie up my hair but the thought of people seeing the scar on my nape makes me uncomfortable. A lot of people already know about it and don't mind but I still have my insecurities when they see it.

I put on some powder to hide my sleep-deprived eyebags and fished my small pouch in my pocket before walking downstairs. I was excited to see Camilo but took in deep breaths to calm my racing heart. "Morning Tio. Morning Marco." I greeted the two men having late breakfasts in the kitchen.

"There's my beautiful girl." Tio laughed his deep warm laugh as put a hand on my shoulder. Marco only murmured his reply not looking in my direction. He must've gone for an all-nighter. I thought to myself seeing how haggard he looks. His black mop of hair slumped lifeless on his head looking greasy. I know he's busy but he should get some shower and rest a bit. I could understand people who are so invested in their work that they didn't care about life's necessities like a relaxing shower.

"Where you off to, looking so pretty?" Tio Diego asks in amusement.

"Ay Tio. All your clothes are beautiful. Of course, I'll try to look my best." He chuckles at my response.

"y/n, I only make the clothes. You made it beautiful." He said flattering me. "No off you go. Camilo must be waiting." He then pushes me out of the house and closes the door behind me.

I was about to go on my way when I realized what he just said. "Tio..." I whined from outside and could hear him giggling behind the closed door. I rolled my eyes at his behaviour and set out to look for my prin- friend. To look for my friend.

Some people greeted me while others just gave me the look of disgust, mostly the older folks. It was an everyday routine to be getting those dirty looks but I still chip at my heart. I don't understand why they would act like that towards me and only me. With others, those people would be super friendly.

When I reached the plaza, it didn't take long before the little children surrounded me asking me to play with them, followed by Camilo who has reverted to a 5-year-old. I giggled seeing him being so silly and picked him up in my arms.

A slight hint of pink on his cheeks when I pinched them. His lopped sided smile never left his face as I held him up in one arm while leading the other children to play in the meadow to not disturb the adults working. The hyperactive kids kept asking things and yelling joyfully all the way.

I've always loved being around kids and them asking me questions in their cute voices and round eyes fills me with joy. "Are we gonna play tag?" "Are you going to show us some magic again?" "Can you carry me next?" "Are you single?" The kids asked and I try my best to answer each one of them with Camilo arguing with another kid about something I couldn't understand.

After reaching the beautiful clearing, Camilo turned back to himself and made the kid run towards the lone apple tree in the distance. "The last one to touch the trees is IT." We both laughed seeing the tiny legs running for the tree.

"So...hola mi Vida." Camilo smiled at me and leaned to the side. He forgot we were out in the field so there's nothing to lean on and fell into the soft grass. I couldn't contain my laughter seeing his flustered face as he got up. "I-I m-meant to do t-that." He stuttered look awkward. I began laughing again but stopped short when I felt something surging in me.

I held a hand on my chest to calm myself and kept my head down taking in deep breaths. Camilo got worried but I brushed him off with a smile. "Come on! You don't wanna be IT now do you?!" I gave him a gentle push on his shoulder before running to the kids with him hot on my heels.
