Six left the group of kids but later came back with the music box she found in issue 1. The music box had a ballerina on the inside as well as a mirror. When Six showed the others they all seemed to enjoy it except Humpback Girl who took the music box and threw it against the wall breaking it in the process.

Humpback Girl begins to share what she remembers. This story takes place in Pale City, sometime before Little Nightmares. My guess is before the time paradox occurred. There is an abandoned house that had stories/legends behind it so she and her group of friends decided to go inside. This house is the same one The Lady went in and discovered the mirrors. I marked it as a theory because the whole thing about The Lady even going to this house is a theory but if it is true then it would be the same house. Humpback Girl was scared and told her friends not to go inside but they didn't listen so she reluctantly followed them in.

Inside there were sheets covering very tall pieces of furniture. After the kids pull the sheets off it is revealed to be mirrors. Remember that those mirrors grant someone's deepest wish. If a person already has their deepest wish then it reveals the opposite. The thing they want the least.

Boy Who Got Tall looked in a mirror and became tall. Boy Who Got Strong looked in a mirror and became super buff. Boy Who Got Forked looked in a mirror and became two people. Humpback Girl was scared to look in a mirror but out of peer pressure, she did. Instead of seeing her wish, she saw the Mirror Monster. Soon after, the Mirror Monster reached out of the mirror and grabbed Boy Who Got Strong. He was dragged inside and trapped in the mirror.

The other three began to run away but they couldn't fit through the hole they came in from because they were bigger now. Humpback Girl, who was the only one who could fit, didn't want to leave her friends behind so she came up with a plan for the other two to look back into the same mirrors they looked into earlier. Maybe it would change them back to normal. Boy Who Got Forked looked into his mirror and saw his old self that was just one. Suddenly Mirror Monster grabbed one of the twins and pulled him into the mirror. Since only half of him was left he could only speak halfway through his words.

When looking back into the mirror that changed someone, that person can see their original reflection before their wish or curse was granted. When The Lady looks into the mirror in Little Nightmares DLC, it instead shows the ugly face that the mirror turned her into because that is what she truly looks like. She covers up that look by consuming lives to make her beautiful and young but that acts more like makeup. The reason she doesn't see her original self is that when she took a mirror from the house, it was not the mirror that originally changed her.

Humpback girl had another plan and used herself as bait to draw Mirror Monster out. Once Mirror Monster revealed itself inside a mirror, Boy Who Got Tall pushed the mirror over, shattering it and making the monster disappear. The girl looked into the shattered glass to see if he was gone for good but doing so changed her into a humpback state. She already had the thing she wanted most so the mirror gave her the thing she wanted least. Boy Who Got Tall covered the girl with a sheet of sorts, telling her they would go find help. Boy Who Got Tall and Boy Who Got Forked left Humpback Girl behind. They left her behind and never came back. It is unlike The Boy Who Got Tall to do that so perhaps they did try to find help but were not quick enough.

Eventually, The Ferryman showed up and held out his hand to the girl. She took it and the two walked out of the house and disappeared. Now Humpback Girl says she will never look into a mirror again. Perhaps she has catoptrophobia (fear of mirrors.)

Six left the group after the story Humpback Girl shared, and never returned again.

There are actually many theories about Mirror Monster but the one I'm going with is that he is just another monster in this world. He uses the mirrors as bait to draw people in so he can take them and trap them in the mirrors. Since stories of this happening spread, people stopped showing up to look in his magical mirrors and they even covered them with sheets. The Lady may have even encountered him when she visited but clearly, she was able to escape.
