Cora and Derek were still shocked by my revelation.

Cora was the first to break the silence

" It's.... that's impressive"

"I just have been very lucky," I admit

I heard Peter chuckle, he came down and stood in front of us.

"I would have said talent, personally"

" And you're telling us that at 13 years old you were able to face the Calaveras, without any help from anyone?"

I noded, I don't like to brag about what happened that day. I had to kill humans and even if it was hunters and that it was them or me, taking human life is still very difficult for me.

Derek must have seen my dilemma because he added

" They deserved it. All you did was kill murderers."

I wanted to say that I did not kill just murderers. My adoptive parents were not murderers....But telling them about that is too hard for me right now.

" Do you think the Alphas are aware of that?" I asked to change the subject.

" They must surely know," replied Peter.

I felt my cell phone vibrate in my pocket, I had completely forgotten it was there. To my great satisfaction it had survived my fall and was intact.

The message was from an unknown sender but I quickly understood who it was from:"don't forget tomorrow at 6 pm".

Cora must have seen my dismay

" Who is it?"

I showed them my screen.

" I'll go, I don't see any other way."

" No, you won't" Derek ordered.

"Yes, I will."

" No, you won't "

"Yes, I will. I am very good at this game" I informed Derek

" Except that it's not a game Jade!" Derek scolded me by raising his voice and standing up.

I get up in my turn,

" You think I am not aware of that?" I asked him, trying to keep my cool " I'll do what I think is necessary, I've never needed anyone until now and I don't see why that would change" I added, irritated by his remark.

Seriously, who does he think he is? I've only known him since this morning and he's already starting to give me order and to yell at me.

I took my bag and started to leave

"Jade, that's not what he meant," Cora tried.

" That's not my problem" I turned to them, " thanks for helping me" I left the apartment by slamming the door.

The first thing I did when I arrived at my aunt's house was to take refuge in my bed.

Normally I would have turned into my wolf shape and went for a walk in the forest to calm down, but the full moon was coming up, and I have a lot of trouble controlling myself during this phase of the moon.

All the pressure of the last few days fell away and I burst into tears.
I was tired, angry and scared. I got up and decided to take a shower to try to calm myself down, then I went to bed.

And to my amazement, I managed to fall asleep.
