Chapter 21

Memories start flooding through my mind and I stumble backwards. I remember everything that happened during the test, but how?

''Kai! Kai, do you remember me?'' I ask frantically. He looks confused and starts to back away.

''I'm sorry-''

''Please remember me!'' I desperately needed him to remember. ''We were in the test together, c'mon please remember something,'' I bit my lip, pleading that he would remember.

Suddenly as he looked at if there was a glaze was lifted from his eyes.

''T-Taehyun?'' I smiled and pulled him into a big hug. ''Oh my god, I remember!'' we jumped around in the hug not caring who saw us.

''But how did we remember, they said we were supposed to forget everything?'' Kai asked.

''I'm not sure, I just saw you and remembered.'' I said. ''We should try to find the others, something's not right about the society. We can get out of here if we find them.'' I said quietly to Kai. People at the air train station had started to stare.

''Good idea, I know where Soobin and Yeonjun might be.'' I nodded and we made our way out of the station to find a better place to talk.

We quickly walked through the city until we were near a park, only a few old people walking nearby.

''This should be fine,'' I said as we slowed down. ''So what should we do now? Obviously we remember what happened so something must have gone wrong.''

''Yeah, but it makes me wonder how many other people remember things that they aren't supposed to.'' Kai said.

''Everything is kind of confusing me now. A while ago I was so sure that I wanted to work in the society and live like the leaders wanted us to, controlled. But now I don't think I can. Why should we be forced into a life like this? Why can't we be free, to make our own choices, use our powers, make our food for gods sake?'' I questioned.

''Exactly, how have people been living like this for long?'' Kai sighed. ''I think we should find out more about the outsiders,''

''Yeah I agree, the leaders are hiding things about the outside world, maybe it's time we find out.''
