Damien holds my hand as I sit on the table, the ultrasound tech moving the cold gel around by pressing the wand against my abdomen. It's not long before the sound of a heartbeat fills the room.

"There's the baby's heartbeat." The ultrasound tech announces. Damien grabs my hand and squeezes in response as he stares intently on the black and white screen on front of us. The fast heartbeat continues to echo through the otherwise quiet room.

"Do you guys want to know the sex?" The ultrasound tech asks us, her eyes shifting between Damien and I. I can't contain the smile on my face as I look at Damien, hoping he is as excited as me to find out the sex. Damon's smile grows, matching mine as he reads my face.

"Go ahead and tell us." His eyes don't leave my face as he responds to the technician, his face mirroring the joy in mine.

We are stepping through the door that leads outside of the OB office. I've not taken five steps before I feel myself being lifted off my feet, suddenly spinning around. Damien has his arms around me and is lifting me up, spinning me around in circles. I stare into his baby blue eyes as he continues to hold me up.

"A baby girl. Can you believe it, krasotka?" I can't contain the happiness I feel watching his reaction to the news. I never would have expected this reaction from him, ever. Seeing how happy this made him makes me ashamed at myself for hiding this from him. I quickly push those thoughts aside, wanting to move foreword.

"I love you Damien." I say with sincerity, wanting him to know how much he means to me. "I love you too, baby." I lower my mouth and press my lips against his, meeting him for a passionate kiss. He spins me one more time before placing me on my feet, giving me another kiss before taking my hand and leading us forward.

I take a step forward, following in Damien's footsteps. I'm so excited that I'm not paying attention, causing me to run into someone walking in the opposite direction.

It takes me a moment to gather my bearings, realizing what just happened.

"Oh god. I'm sorry! Are you okay?" I look up to see the person I ran into, only to have my stomach drop as I recognize who I ran into.

"Evan." I say breathlessly. "What are you doing here?" I blurt out, unable to handle the uneasiness between us.

"We both work here Hadley, remember?" He says coldly to me. I follow his gaze at the hospital connected to the OB office.

"Right. Of course. Stupid question. I was just caught off guard seeing you. I've tried to call you-" I am cut off when I feel a body press into my side, an arm possessively wrapping around me. I breathe in at the contact, inhaling Damien's mouthwatering scent.

"You going to introduce me baby?" Damien's husky voice speaks lowly, possessively. I look over to find Damien staring down at Evan. Damien looks murderous at him, standing six inches taller than Evan but also being much more muscular. Just much bigger. I have no doubt he just witnessed Damien spinning me around and kissing me.

Evan's eyes narrow but he doesn't respond to Damien.
"Have a nice life Hadley." He says as he turns away, walking into the hospital.

The drive home is quiet. I don't speak, the emotions from my loss of friendship with Evan hitting me. I step out of the car as soon as the engine is turned off, making my way into the house and removing my coat.

"Do you want him, krasotka?" I hear an edge to Damien's voice.

"No. I've already told you that I don't." I say in a clipped tone, irritated that he is bringing this up again.

"That's not how it looked. You looked like you wanted him back, which really fucking hurt since we just found out we are having a baby girl. A baby girl you did not tell me about and was going to let that asshole raise."
