They say the ugly truth is covered by countless beautiful lies.[Name] also thinks so.
He didn't want to rejoin that underground fighting club. He didn't want to hurt people anymore, nor did he want to break the promise he made with Shinichiro to escape that life. Even after his death, he refused to revert back to his old ways and stayed true to his word.
But then his father told him something.
"Your Shinichiro is still alive."
In order for [Name] to stay subservient to him, his father made up the lie that Shinichiro was alive and hidden somewhere in the country in a coma and that as long as he continued to fight then his father would eventually tell him where he was.
He knew that it wasn't possible for Shinichiro to be alive. Yet, if there was the tiniest, smallest chance that he could still be alive, [Name] would've made the same decision over and over and over again.
So [Name] fought.
And fought.
And fought.
And killed.
All in the hopes of meeting his most beloved person.
Even if he knew somewhere deep inside that he was lying, what could he have done? If he didn't believe this lie, then he would have nothing left to live for and that was far more terrifying.
Until the day of Baji's death when he ran away from home in the rain. A certain old friend of his from a long time ago covered [Name] with an umbrella and provided him shelter in his house.
They were friends a long, long time ago, in elementary school. Then, they had only recently met again a year ago after reuniting at a cram school. It was funny, because [Name] had never seen his old friend smile so brightly as the time he found [Name] breaking down behind the cram school building. Like he enjoyed watching him suffer, and going to 'save' him.
That was the day he realized his old friend was bad news and decided to cut off all contact. Yet whenever he was at his worst, somehow he always found him.
"Why must you go so far for me..." [Name] glanced up and spoke.
"Kisaki."
He smiled mysteriously, like he knew something that [Name] didn't. Before [Name] left his house, Kisaki gave him a strange orange envelope.
