Painful Past

# At the Hideout

Hobi entered their hideout slowly totally out of focus. Only Tae was there reading a book. He noticed Hobi and put the book on the table.

"Hey Hobi, what's the matter? You look lost..."

"Where are Jimin and Joon?" He didn't bother to ask Tae about him anything. His mind was clouded.

"Jimin has gone to buy some snacks. He'll come back soon. And Joon has not come here yet. But, hey, did you cry? Is everything okay? You don't look well. Come, have some water first."

Hobi gulped down half of the water of the bottle. But could not control his thoughts. Tae was about to ask him something, but suddenly Joon busted into the room.

"Hobi, what happened? You asked me to come here as fast as I can. Are you alright? Why were you crying on the call?" Joon asked with so much concern. He never heard Hobi crying. He thought Hobi was a tough guy like him.

"Wait, what?! Hobi cried? Seriously? Can anyone explain what's going on? I was not here for some time, and I know so much is going on here." Tae was clueless.

"We'll tell you everything, but let Jimin come first!" Joon said, eyeing Hobi, who was silent and his head was low.

For four or five minutes the room was silent. Then Jimin entered with a bag of snacks. He saw Hobi and went to him. Sitting beside Hobi, Jimin asked Joon, "Did Hobi call you too?"

"Yeah, he was crying," Joon answered with a pitiful look to Hobi.

"Hobi, can you tell us what happened, now? If you need time, we can wait." Jimin knew something bad happened.

"No, guys, I have to tell you everything. I can't handle it anymore." Hobi stopped for some seconds and continued, "Jimin, Joon... I think uncle Min, I mean Jin's dad is Yoongi's father."

"What?!" The other three said together. They were shocked.

"Yes, let me tell you everything," Hobi said and everyone went silent, focusing on Hobi's words.

Hobi continued, "Yesterday, after leaving the coffee shop, I went straight to my house. Jin and uncle Min were not there. So, I got a chance to ask my parents about Jin and his dad. At first, they were hesitating. After requesting five or six times, they agreed to tell me everything..." Hobi paused again. Jimin saw him and rubbed his hand on Hobi's back to give him comfort.

Hobi stated again, "You all know that uncle is not Jin's real father. Jin's mother was uncle's childhood friend. She married a doctor and gave birth to a twin. Jin has a twin sister. Then his dad passed away in an accident at the hospital. After that Jin's mother tried hard to take care of her children. But she didn't get a good job. The saving was running out. She had to sell their house. At that time, Jin and his sister were in school. His mother could not take care of all the expenses alone. One day while working part-time in a store, she met a businessman. He offered her a job. After some time, they became closer and they got married. At first, the man did not want to take Jin and his sister to his house. But then he wanted to take only Jin's sister. He wanted her to marry his business partner's son. But after so many requests, he agreed to let Jin live in his house. But it was terrible for Jin. That man always brought some issues to beat Jin. That poor kid didn't even get proper food. His mother tried to take care of him, but she was afraid of her husband. Jin's life was being ruined by that man because Jin was useless to that heartless man. I don't know what exactly happened, but one day, Jin's mom called uncle Min on phone. She wanted to meet him. They met and Jin's mother told him everything and requested him to take Jin away from them. She was hurt by seeing her son suffer that much. Uncle was close to Jin when he was a little kid. After two days, Jin's mom met uncle with Jin and a bag in her hand. She handed Jin over to uncle and ran away with teary eyes. Jin was told that uncle was taking him on a trip and they will return soon. But after some days, Jin realized that he was abandoned by his mother. He cried every night. But uncle was there for him." Hobi paused for a moment and looked at others. They were lost with teary eyes. They could not believe that their always smiling bright cheerful Jin had a painful past like this.

"Then, what happened, Hobi?" Tae asked with a cracked voice. He was tired of holding his tears.

"Uncle has a restaurant chain overseas. He had to go there, but he could not leave Jin alone. So, he requested my dad to take care of Jin. We already knew Jin back then and we loved him very much. At first, Jin was not open to us. He always locked himself inside his room. But slowly he accepted us as his family and I became his best friend." Hobi stopped and Jimin instantly gave him a tight hug.

"What about uncle Min? How get you know that he is Yoongi's father?" It was Joon.

"Oh, that's... I heard that uncle Min had a family before. He had a son. But he had to leave them just for taking care of Jin. After all, he promised his friend. He loves Jin so much. After losing his family, Jin was his only hope. My dad told me that there was a misunderstanding between my uncle and his wife. They fought over Jin. Uncle wanted Jin to live with his family. But aunty thought that Jin was uncle's real son, I mean she thought that uncle cheated on her and had a son from another woman. He tried to convince her so many times. Even after leaving Jin to us, uncle went to her again. But she was hurt too. She could not believe him and they had a big fight. After that their path got separated. I'm not sure if he is Yoongi's father or not yet, but my heart is saying that it's true."

There was pin-drop silence. No-one dared to say anything for some time.

"Now, what to do?" Joon asked softly wiping the corner of his eyes.

"We want all of them to be happy. Let's not do anything now. It's not like we can do much. We have to give lots of love to Yoongi and Jin. They deserve happiness. When the time comes, everything will be alright. If needed, we'll do anything to make the family happy again." Jimin said and rose his hand to give others a high five. The others joined him.
