Part 19

Your POV

You wake up in the morning to Alex's phone ringing, he gets up and answers it before running back into your bedroom.
"Everyone is at HMS, there's a team meeting, we need to go now!" He shouts to you as he starts getting ready quickly, you quickly get up and dressed and go make a drink for yourself and him.

You run out to his truck with both drinks in your hands and give him his when you get in the truck,
"Thanks baby," he says giving you a wink before setting off.

You get to HMS quite fast and both run inside, you have not idea what to expect and why you have been told to come right now, this concerns you a little. Alex walks into the meeting room first and you slowly walk in behind him, everyone is there already and staring at you.

"Finally! Ok so i needed (Y/N) here to hear this too... I cant race this weekend, doctors orders!" Chase shouts as he limps around the table to stand beside Mr.H and they both look at you.

"We've been chatting about getting someone in the nine car this weekend still though. Chase here is adamant who he wants to race his car, and he's talked me around to it as well, the nine team have also agreed on it. So now all we need, is this person to say yes!" Mr.H says to you all. You look at Alex who smirks a little and then to Mahkaila sat beside Will who both just raise their eyebrows.

"(Y/N)?" Chase says your name, loud enough to get your attention and the attention of everyone in the room.
"W-what?" You stutter and eventually get your words out.
"How'd you like the nine car this weekend?" Chase asks you, still stood beside Mr.H, both staring at you.

You look around and everyone is looking at you, you freeze and cant get any words out.

"(Y/N)? You ok?" Alex whispers to you putting his hand on your leg, you nod and he smiles.

"What about Alex? Im his PR." You question Chase and Mr.H,
"Mahkaila can do it for one race, i got you, you got my car and my team, thats if you want to do it?" He says and waits for you to respond.

You look across at Mahkaila and Will, they both smile at you and then you look up at Alex, he shrugs and smirks.
"You can do it. If you really want to do it, go for it! I know you're scared and think you cant do it, but you can. We've all seen you race, (Y/N)." Alex grabs your hand and says quietly, you just stare at the table in front of you and don't speak at first from overthinking.

"But i literally raced for the first time not that long ago and that was in a go-kart!" You shout across the table, Alex shakes his head.
"But you were good at it from the beginning!" Chase shouts back almost not letting you finish.

"You want me to race, don't you?" You smirk at Chase, his face changes and he looks away, you laugh at him.
"Ok fine! I'll do it! But, you gotta teach me some stuff like, as soon as possible!" You shout to Chase, you watch him swing his head around and grin.

"Looks like we got competition!" Alex jokes with Will and they both laugh.

Not long after this, you go with Chase and his team outside and get shown the basics of the car before practicing some pit stops. After a while of doing this, Chase helps you out of the car and heads back through the building pulling you by your arm.

"Where are we going?" You cant help but laugh as he marches through the building dragging you behind.
"Charlotte!" Is all he says in response.
"What?" You question and he looks at you like you said something stupid.

"You need to drive. You need to go fast. You need to race! Mr.H has managed to get us a few hours at Charlotte. Alex, Will and Mahkaila are meeting us there, Alex has been to get your race suit, you can have one of my NAPA helmets though." He explains and you get nervous overthinking everything again and don't speak.
