The Hendrick Guys- what next?

Part 21

Alex POV

You finally get to the hospital and run inside to find where (Y/N) is and keep running until you get to her room. You slow down and approach her slowly, wires and tubes everywhere.

"We need to send her for scans and x-rays, feel free to follow us down." One of the nurses say to you after being told who you are. You aren't sure where the other guys are but you rush off with them to do x-rays and some other tests.

A short while later, (Y/N) is awake, you're sat holding her hand and talking to her, she's still in a neck brace and in some pain. You turn around to see everyone walking in to see her, Chase and Mahkaila come in first and both give her a hug, she smiles but doesn't move or speak. Will walks in behind them and looks at you,
"Shes ok dude, don't worry." You reassure him and he smiles before walking over to her, she smiles at him and squeezes his hand.

You all look over to the door when you hear a little knock, Kyle is stood with Owen, Owen is stood holding a teddy bear and balloon for (Y/N).
"Sorry, he wanted to see her and bring her something," Kyle says sounding quite nervous, you laugh a little and pick Owen up and sit him on the edge of the bed.
"Be careful, she cant really move, she hurts everywhere," you explain to him, he nods and puts the bear beside her and ties the balloon at the bottom of the bed, you all stand and smile at him as he hugs her gently.
"I wanted you to win the whole race! I hope you can play soccer again soon as well!" He whispers as he hugs her.

"Come on Owen, we need to go now." Kyle says to Owen right as the doctor walks in, they say goodbye before heading off.
"We have the results of the x-rays and tests, could i just get you guys to wait outside for me please? You can stay though if you're the boyfriend!" The doctor says to you all and you stay, of course. Everyone leaves the room and you sit beside (Y/N).

"So, first off, we can take this from around your neck since everything is fine up here," the doctor says as they take off the neck brace.
"As for the rest of the tests and x-rays, everything looks fine, besides a concussion and fractured finger believe it or not! You got lucky... very, very lucky (Y/N)!" The doctor says laughing, you sigh relived and she laughs. After this, the doctor leaves and you sit with (Y/N).

"Im glad you're ok babe," you whisper to her as you grab her hand, she smiles at you.
"I cant wait to go home," she whispers closing her eyes as she talks.
"Hopefully we can go home soon," you stroke her head as you whisper to her, she opens her eyes and looks up at you,
"Sounds good to me... bed, movie and snuggles, i cant wait!" She replies enthusiastically, you nod and laugh at her.

You turn around as Will walks back into the room,
"They have gone back to pick up Chase's truck and yours," he tells you and you nod.

"How are you feeling?" He walks over to the bed and asks (Y/N).
"Im ok... my head hurts and my finger is fractured, other than that I'm fine." She replies and there a short pause.

"I heard you were first to drop out of the race?" She asks with a raised brow, he nods and rubs the back of his neck.
"I was worried, i told you i had a bad feeling about this race! I had to drop out, i couldn't have raced..."
"Hey, calm down! Im here, I'm in one piece, just calm yourself down Willy b!" She shouts and reaches for his hand and squeezes, you both hear his breathing, you pat him on the shoulder and he smiles.

The three of you sit and chat for a while before Chase and Mahkaila return and join in chatting. You're all disturbed by a doctor walking in,
"Well, it looks like you're free to leave once we strap your finger! I suggest you keep taking painkillers to ease the pain too." He says before strapping her finger so almost her whole hand is bandaged up and then you all get ready and leave.

"Come on Will, we'll drop you at your place so these two lovebirds can have a nice chilled night together in their new home," Chase says putting his arm around Will's shoulders and winking at you. You all say goodbye and head off, (Y/N) is quiet during the drive home and heads straight to bed when she gets in.

You grab some food and a drink for you both and head to bed, she is already changed and in bed, you climb in and before you can say anything she shuffles closer and rests her head on you, you put your arm around her and kiss her head.
"You beat me to it," you whisper to her and she laughs a little.

Before long, she falls asleep and you just sit up for a while and message the others after they ask how she is, a couple hours later, you fall asleep. You wake up first in the morning and go grab her some painkillers and make her some tea, she wakes up when you walk back into the bedroom and rolls over and winces in pain.
"Morning, have some painkillers. I made you some tea as well," you then go and get back in bed as she takes some painkillers, she rolls over to you and hugs you laying on you again and thanks you.

The rest of the day goes by slowly, you both stay in, order some food and have a chill day and just snuggle watching movies before having an early night.

The next day...

You wake up quite early and head to HMS for a meeting, you don't disturb (Y/N), instead you kiss her forehead and leave quietly.

You get to HMS and are bombarded with questions from everyone asking how (Y/N) is, you explain she is ok and is still resting and continue into the meeting room. Mr.H talks about the race and mentions (Y/N) and also asks how she is, you tell him the same thing you told everyone else. You look across the table at Will, Chase and Mahkaila, they look at you concerned and Chase mouthes to you, "are you ok?"
You shrug back to him and then look at Mr.H as he starts talking again.

You sit in your own world throughout the meeting and just stare into space. You snap out of it when you feels someone's touch as they squeeze your shoulders, you look up confused and see (Y/N) smiling down at you.

"What are you doing here?" You laugh, surprised to see her here.
"thought id come show a face since all that over the weekend... wanted to thank everyone too, especially the 48 team for helping get me out of the wreck... might've just saved me." She explains and you face forward again and look down.

You look back up when (Y/N) stands behind you and drops her hands over your shoulders crossing them at your chest, you rest your head on her arm tilting it to one side. Chase smiles at you, you smile back as Mr.H continues talking.

The meeting seems to go by quite fast after this and you all leave after a couple of hours. Chase, Mahkaila and Will walk over to you both.
"Are you ok? You seem very quiet," Will asks concerned, you nod and smile,
"Im better now thank you." You say back to Will.

"Promise me, you wont race again!" Will shouts to (Y/N) grabbing her hands and holding them in front of him, she laughs and shakes her head.
"Im not promising that Will, I'm sorry. I'll probably just stick to my own kind of racing though... after i recover of course!" She shouts back, he smile and nods in defeat and you all head out.

You stand talking to some of your team, the 9 and 24 team, you give the girls your keys and they go wait in your truck. They all mention how happy you looked when you noticed her in the room and they even said it was like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders, you feel awkward after they say this and stand quietly again. Chase just smirks and teases you, of course.

After chatting for a short while, you all finally head out to the trucks. Mahkaila gets out of yours and into Chase's and Will parks beside your truck in his GTR.
"We all need to do something fun once I'm well enough to do something!" (Y/N) insists, everyone agrees and she smiles and rests her head on the window and closes her eyes.
"Look after her, can tell she still isn't very well. If you need anything, let me know." Will says to you quietly, you smile and nod before thanking him and you soon all drive off and head home.
