Part 23

Alex POV

You and Chase look at each other and then to (Y/N) who walks away from you all, you leave them to drinking and go see (Y/N).
"Hey, you good?" You ask her concerned, she nods and smiles, holding in a laugh before showing you a message from your mom saying "is everything ok with Alex? He seemed a little off when we spoke earlier."
You cant help but smirk at this and get your phone out and FaceTime your mom.

"Hi mom!" You say rubbing the back of your neck,
"Is everything ok? Are you ok?" She asks, concern in her voice, you just nod.
"Has something happened?" She asks again,
"Kinda..." you almost whisper,
"What do you mean, kinda? Its nothing to do with you and (Y/N) is it? I just messaged her about you and she hasn't replied." She sounds upset saying this, you pull a face and shrug.
"No! Whats happened now? You better not have done something stupid again, Alex!" She shouts at you now.

(Y/N) snatches the phone from you and you start laughing.
"What's he done now? He hasn't done anything stupid again has he?" Your mom asks her and she laughs,
"He hasn't done anything, don't worry. Although... define stupid?" (Y/N) asks your mom, she seems confused.
"Do you mean like, hurt me again or propose? What do you mean by stupid?" She ask, your mom doesn't say anything for a few seconds.

You sit beside (Y/N) so your mom can see you both, she pulls a face at you both.
"Ok, what's going on? Don't joke around about him proposing, he couldn't pull that off alone!" Your mom says and laughs,
"Well he managed perfectly fine on his own actually." (Y/N) shoots back at her, you look at her fast and both laugh,
"No way!" She shouts, you grab (Y/N)'s hand and show her the ring, she starts screaming after this, you and (Y/N) sit and laugh at her.
"Im coming over!" She screams before hanging up, you shake your head still laughing.

(Y/N) stands up and grabs your hand,
"Lets go have a drink," she drags your through and gets yours and her drinks and goes to put some music on, you quickly go change into comfy clothes so you aren't sat in a suit all evening and come back through dancing.

Not long later your mom arrives, she runs up to (Y/N) and hugs her,
"Erm, hello? Your son over here?" You say pulling a face at her, (Y/N) laughs at you and your mom lets her go and hugs you too.

You all have a few drinks for the rest of the evening to celebrate until your mom leaves just after midnight and Chase starts throwing up from drinking too much. Will and (Y/N) help Chase up onto his feet again while you go outside and call them a ride home, Mahkaila follows you outside and you only realise once you end the call and turn around.

"Oh, hey..." you say in shock, surprised to see her right there,
"Sorry i startled you," she laughs at you, you pull a face and nod,
"You noticed that huh?" You ask with a smirk and she nods and laughs.

You both stand outside for a few minutes in silence both not knowing what to say until she breaks the silence.
"Hey, um... I'm happy for you both by the way." She says in the most unconvincing way, you just look at her with a raised brow and she quickly turns away,
"Im gonna get Chase." She says quickly before trying to hurry away from you, you shake your head and stop her going back inside pulling her arm.

"Whats the matter? You seemed fine earlier and now you seem, not fine?" You ask her, she shrugs,
"I am fine," she almost whispers.
"You're not. Listen, you can talk to me you know." You whisper to her putting your arm around her, she tries to smile and nods.

She stays silent a few seconds before speaking again.
"It's just an old friend of mine, being an ass. He wont leave me alone..."
"He?" You butt in straight away, she nods.
"My ex... he was horrible to me. He hates Chase and is always leaving horrible comments on his socials and I'm convinced I've seen him a few times whilst I've been out, but I'm trying to ignore the fact i think i keep seeing him cause i don't want it to be him." You can hear the panic in her voice telling you this.
"I take it you've only told me?" You ask her and she nods into response,
"Do you not want to tell.." you're cut off by Mahkaila,
"No! The others would kill him if they knew everything!" She shouts at you.
"Everything?" You question her about it, she doesn't respond and then a car pulls up to take her and Chase home.
