"Robo, look at this! When you search Kira there's pages of websites that are all dedicated to Kira." I scroll through the lists of websites.

"Wow, humans are certainly interesting." Robo goes over to the window and looks out at the street. I think I'll just use the News to find criminals today. I turn on my TV and search through the stations before I find a good one. Apparently this man burned down a hospital a couple days ago but hasn't been arrested yet. He was a past inmate at a local jail so they're showing his face and name right in the middle of the screen. This will make it easy to kill him. I flip to the next page of the Death Note and start writing.

Manzo Chinen

There, another criminal dead. I'm about to change the station when the screen changes to an announcer. I ignore the first bit and attempt to change it. Before I get to, the announcer says something that stops me.

"I am Lind L. Taylor, otherwise known as L."

His sentence catches me off guard. L? The detective? I set down the remote and continue listening. Shit. L wants to catch Kira.

"Are you going to kill him?" Robo seems to be paying attention as well.

"No, this is a fight for Kira to win. Not me. I'm curious what he'll do." I keep watching the broadcast, waiting for something to happen. Just as I think Kira's not going to do anything, L collapses.

The screen changes and the letter L pops up. Shit. The other L was a fake. This can't be good.

"Ugh, Kira you idiot!" I whisper yell and stare at the screen as L mocks Kira for not being able to kill him. This L guy might be a problem. He's already finding out so much about Kira.

"Although this was announced as a worldwide broadcast, the truth is, we are only broadcasting in the Kanto region of Japan-" How the Hell is this guy so smart!? Even though L has figured out where Kira is, that means I live in the same region as Kira. Maybe I've passed by him before and not even known. Despite L trying to catch Kira, I almost respect him now, that was a smart move.

A/N: By this point, Light is starting to realize that some criminals he never wrote the names of are dying of heart attacks. He's happy that someone else has a Death Note and seems to have the same morals as him. It also means another person with a Death Note though, that could end badly if the second Kira isn't careful.

I'm hanging out on the living room couch, dad's supposed to be home soon and I want to be near the door when he arrives. I don't see him that often so it's nice when he is home. Just as I finish the chapter I'm reading, I hear the doorbell ring.

"Welcome home dad!" I shout from the living room.

"Glad you could make it for dinner dad!" Sayu says as she runs downstairs. I set aside my book and head to the dining table to eat.

"So Light, tell me how are your studies going." Dad asks as we start eating. Gee, thanks for asking me too dad, it's not like I study just as hard.

"Everything's okay I guess." Light replies calmly.

"Whatever, he and Hotaru are at the top of their class. They're so smart!" Sayu states happily, slapping me on the back.

"Thanks Sayu." I smile and continue eating silently.

"Is everything okay dad? You look tired." Light asks.

"Yeah, I'm not able to say too much about it, but this case I'm working on now is really tough." He sighs. A moment of realization hits me. Of course! He works with the police, that probably means he's working with L on the Kira case. I finish up dinner and head back to my room.

"You look concentrated, did you come up with some kind of idea?" Robo sits on my bed as I turn on my computer.

"Everyone's on a home network at our house. That means since I know my dad's password I can look at his files whenever I please. Knowing him, he's probably taking notes on everything that happens." I type in his password and all his files pop up.

"Seems like they're starting to suspect a school student. It would be cool if it was someone in my class." I read through his notes and realize that whoever Kira is, they're not doing a great job at hiding who they are. To be honest, I haven't exactly been setting times of death either so I can't really judge him. This will be easy to fix. I get out my Death Note and decide to set it up so a couple criminals die each hour on the dot tomorrow. I'll do the same thing tomorrow when it's time to write names again.
