Well this was delightful. Being stuck in a room with Marcel sat opposite me, Hayley looking like she's just about given up in life and Klaus who was stood next to the seated me, a large grin on his face as he tapped a spoon against his glass in order to get the attention of people. Then there was me, I'd been stuck in this compound for more than days and it's fair to say it was nothing how I expected.
"Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift. Immortality. After 1,000 years one might expect life to be less keenly felt for it's beauties and it's sorrows to diminish with time, but as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine", Klaus said, then raised his arm and called over humans who had knifes to their wrists, they then cut when they had reached each glass, "insatiable need, exquisite pain. Our victories and our defeats. To my city, to my home again. May the blood never cease to flow".
"And the party never end", Marcel joined in, putting on a fake smile as he lifted his glass.
"To New Orleans", Diego said, raising his glass while others did the same, everyone except both me and Hayley.
"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you, that you are not defeated. No. My intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have, what Marcel, in fact, took, and built into this. A true community of vampires", Klaus said.
"What about those two, the wolf and the vampire", Diego asked, eyeing me and Hayley.
"Had you let me finish Diego, you would know that there is of course, a few further matters I'd like to address. As many of you know, the girl is carrying my child. Consequently I trust you all will all pay her the appropriate respect", Klaus said, placing a hand on Hayley's shoulder. Klaus then looked over to me and slightly smiled.
"And as for Melena, I'm sure you all know who she is. Therefor I do not need to explain what will happen if any of you show the slightest disrespect. You ask no questions, just move on with your day. There's no reason for any of you to bother her. Melena is one of my dear friends, and although I'm plenty sure she would kill you, if any of you lay a single finger on her, I will make you wish I would kill you", Klaus threatened, his hand sneaking from my lower back up to my shoulder, almost flirtatious which made Marcel look away in annoyance.
"However, I understand that some of you are concerned by this vicious rumour that I intend to use the blood of our child to create hybrids. I assure you, I do not", Klaus continued to say, only for Hayley to scoff.
"Father of the year", she muttered sarcastically, like she forgot everyone in the room had super hearing.
Klaus let go of me, walking back over to his seat with anger ridden in his face.
"It appears I will have to earn your trust, very well. We'll eliminate the root of your anxiety. You see, how can I sire any hybrids if there are no more werewolves to turn in the bayou?" Klaus asked, making me look up to him and give him a displeased look. I knew exactly what he was about to do.
