Callum came out from the bushes, announcing his presence to the soldiers. I assume he went to help Rayla, after all, I was unable to.

Watching from the bushes, Callum seems to take out his book in his right hand along with a green worm in his left hand.

"Callum, what are you doing?" Claudia yelled out.

I, for one, knew what was about to happen. While training with Viren might've not seemed bad at first, he was one for dark magic. I never really practiced ocean spells or such, only in secret with little skill. He taught the basics of rune magic but that was it. I was more skilled in dark magic then I'd like to admit.

Dark magic is a powerful tool, yes, but it comes with a lot of consequences. One of my eyes have started to fade into a deeper f/c, almost black. And a strand of my hair has turned black over the years. I don't prefer dark magic and rather use ocean spells more than anything, but training has forced me to use it. I doubt Callum will handle this well.

He started to chant something, his eyes turning purple. The chains on the dragon turned into snakes and they slithered after the soldiers.

Callum fell to the ground and I pulled him into the bushes so he could lie down. Rayla tried pushing the dragon up but Soren pointed his sword at her.

Steam started to rise and the dragon roared as it got up. It started to go after Soren, scaring the others away successfully. Soren swung his sword, cutting off one of the dragons horns. The dragon then smacked its tail at him, and he hit a rock, his back cracking.

I grabbed Callum, letting his unconscious body lean on my shoulder. My leg gave out for a second but I managed to stand up straight. After the dragon flew off, I could see Zym and Ezran watching the dragon fly away.

Claudia started coming towards Ez, her eyes glowing. She soon stopped in her pursuit and went over to her brother who was in pain.

We started walking through the forest, the rain heavily pouring down on us. I walked with Callum, he still leaned on my shoulder.

"That's his fault for messing with dark magic." She complained to Ezran. I sighed.

"Need any help?"

"No, I think I got him." I answered her, Callum's eyes were still closed and had noticeable bruising.

He then tripped, getting back up quickly. "I'm okay, I just need to rest my eyes while we walk."

After we got to the hideout, I placed Callum on a rock and he tried sleeping.

A few rocks tumbled down, revealing someone oddly familiar. I think I saw him once when I was in Katolis.

"You." Rayla said, pointing her blades at him.

He glanced over, seeing Ezran.

"I'm not here to fight." He said, putting his hands up. "Your Aunt Amaya sent me."

He then referred to Ezran as 'King Ezran' and that's where it all went down.

"But i'm just a prince, my dad's the king..." Realization hit his face and he started to deny it.

The information was too much for him and he went for a walk.

It had been a few hours and no sign of Ez. The tracker decided to look look for him, worried of the king's safety.

"Random question but have you ever had any experience with dark magic?" Rayla asked.

"Yeah... One of the high mages in Katolis taught me quite a bit.." I answered, her face lowering a bit.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of how it affected me but I didn't have much of a choice. It was really one of the only things I could train to do. I don't like using dark magic though." I said, sorrow filling my voice.

"I see. Is that why you have a black strand in you hair?"

"Yeah. My left eye started to shift from light f/c to a darkened shade. Too much training." I answered.

"Well i'm glad you stopped using it, it does bad things to you. And it just a horrible power in all.." Rayla said, glancing over at Callum.

I looked away slightly, disappointed that I used dark magic to track them.

Footsteps interrupted my train of thought and it was dude that went to track Ezran. He didn't seem to have him with him. Rayla went over to him.

"What happened? Did you lose his trail?" She asked, a sly smile on her face.

"The kings been eaten by a banther!" He yelled, his voice straining.

I snorted, obviously not paying attention to the mood here. Rayla bursted out laughing.

Rayla then explained to him that Ezran has a connection to animals and that he got a ride on the banther instead of in the banther.

Callum started to make odd noises, moving around in his sleep. He started breathing weird and woke up gasping.

"I have it. I understand the Sky arcanum."

He started to explain that the whole world was like a giant primal sone. And that he was 'inside sky magic'.

He then casted a spell with just his finger, saying the word 'aspiro'.

"Huh." I said, kinda amazed. I wonder if i could do ocean magic like that.

Rayla nudged me. "You should do some ocean spells now, I can break that stone if you want." A smirk made its way to her face.

"Hell no. You're not touching my primal stone. I doubt I could do that. I'd rather not go into a coma." I said, nudging her back.

We then saw Ez coming up the stair-shaped stones.

"Ezran! You're back!"

Zym jumped onto him, licking his face with sparks of energy.

Callum looked confused on who the tracker was but Rayla introduced him as Corvus.

Callum went to hug Ez, realizing he'd known about the kings death.

"Everyone's packed and healthy, well except for Y/n... And we're just a few hours away from the border of Xadia." Rayla announced, glancing at my worsening leg. I had to limp now because my left leg was basically numb at this point.

Ezran said that he was leaving, Corvus being his main protector. Leaving Rayla, Callum, and me. He hugged each of us and went on his way. Zym squirming in Callum's grasp.

Rayla a led us to the border, showing us the moonstone path. I decided that since Ezran's departure, I needed to complete my mission. I snuck away from the main group, launching myself tree to tree. It was way harder with the use of one leg but I sort of managed. Almost falling off a tree.

I caught up to them, Bait was being held in Ez's arms and Corvus was clearing away some brush.

I went to get my sketchbook out of my bag but it wasn't there. Damn it. Guess it's just weapon time. I unsheathed my dagger but before I could make any moves I felt an odd sharp pain in my leg that was suppose to be numb. I looked at my leg and someone had stabbed it. Rayla.
