Manav and the infamous group

Introducing Manav Raheja 

An imaginary character. Is feared by the students and teachers in the college. His mother died one year back [around same time as Avanti]. Hates his father.

Jai: No. We can't hate our sister for that reason only. The reason was her behaviour, her changing. She started taunting Avu for everything, blamed her for false things in front of mom dad knowing I won't believe, till they were with us. She had started drinking underage, always cursing Avu if she tried helping her stop. Then one day I saw her smoking, but her attitude shocked me. Avu said me Avanti had been behaving the same since quiet long with her. She went down the wrong path, not letting us help her but trying to hurt us only instead. She started dating random boys and having one night stands until once... 

He stopped at that, unable to say further. Reem kept a hand on his shoulder. 

Reem: Its fine, you don't have to say it. 

He nodded. 

Jai: I'll continue it later. 

All nodded, not knowing the part he didn't say is the most important one. It may noy reveal the killer, but something else all should know. 

Sid: You should rest for sometime now. 

All left. Sidshek started studying after that. But Riya wasn't able to, her mind kept going back to the case. She had an idea, but wasn't sure if she should say the others. She decided to walk while studying to distract her mind. Taking her books she went to the garden area and started reading while walking on the soft grass bare feet. After sometime a boy came there. 

B: Hi Riya. 

She walked past him without answering as she was too focused in the book to notice someone else's presence. He noticed it and tried calling her again by tapping on her shoulder and she turned around. 

Riya: Yes? 

B: I am Manav Raheja. 

Riya: I am Riya. 

His expressions changed to some unknown one for few seconds. 

Manav: I needed your help actually as even you are in the computer class. I tried approaching the teacher but you also know how he is. 

Riya: Ok, but what help? And why are you asking me, so many are there in that class right? 

Manav: As I don't have any friends from that class and I heard sir appreciating you so thinking you are good at it I thought of asking you. 

Riya: Ok, lets meet later? Right now I am studying this. 

Manav: Yeah, sure. At what time? 

Riya: Tomorrow, 1 hour after college ends? Its very late today. 

Manav: Ok. See you tomorrow. 

He left without waiting for her reply. She got back to her studies. When she noticed it has started getting a bit dark she returned to her room. Soon there was a knock. She opened the door to find Jai. 

Jai: We all are going for dinner.  

They both were going towards the mess when she thought of telling him her idea. 

Riya: Jai, police must have come for investigation the other day right? 

Jai: Yeah they did, but the case got closed in between. We tried asking him to re-open it, but he didn't listen. 

Riya: You can talk to the officer who was working on this case, maybe you'll find out something. I don't know whether he'll say it or not, but you can try. 

Jai: Hmm. I'll go this weekend, it won't be possible to go in between the week days. 

They found the others and went to them. All had dinner while talking about random things, no one brought up the case again. Riya's attention suddenly went to Manav. As it always happens, once you talk to a person, they grab your attention everywhere. She was surprised seeing the group he was with. It was the most notorious group of the college. 

Sid: Riya, where are you lost? 

Riya: Nowhere. 

He looked in the direction she was looking and saw the group. He didn't say anything on that though. 

Sm1: ATTENTION EVERYONE. 

All except the group turned. 

Reem: Ignore them. 

Riyarth nodded. 

Sm1: THIS WEEKEND ON FRIDAY A PARTY HAS BEEN ORGANISED AND YOU ALL ARE INVITED. THE TIME IS 10PM AND VENUE IS OUR FRIEND, ROHIT'S HOME. 

He sat down after that. 

 Sid: Why are they keeping a party suddenly? 

Vaish: They don't need any reason, they keep it whenever they find an empty house at a weekend. 

Riya: Everyone goes there? 

She asked while looking around, all talking about the party. 

Jai: No. Many do, but not all. And the type of parties they keep, I would never want to see from outside also. 

Then they all went to their rooms. Next day after college: 

Sid: Riya, we all are planning on meeting in mine and bhai's room. You weren't there in that class so couldn't tell you. 

Riya: At what time? 

Sid: After half an hour from now. 

He said after seeing the time. It was the exact time she was going to meet Manav. 

Riya: Sid, I won't be able to come, you all can meet. 

Sid: Why? 

Riya: Someone needed some help with the computers, so I have to go there. 

Sid: Who are you talki... 

He stopped as her phone rang. She picked the call. 

Riya: Hello... Um, ok then, I'll be there after 15 minutes... Its ok... yeah, bye. 

She kept the call. 

Sid: Its the same person? 

Riya: Yeah, his name is... 

She was interrupted by a knock. She opened the door and saw a boy. 

Riya: Who are you? 

Before he could say anything someone pulled him away. She closed the door, confused. 

Riya: Do you know him? 

Sid: He is one of the boys from the group we saw yesterday during dinner. Another member is in the adjacent room, he must have knocked the wrong door. 

Riya: Yeah. 

Sid: You haven't experienced yet, but Avu used to complain about the noises coming from that room.

Did really one sister kill the other? If not why is she lying?

Will Sid reach the true killer (if it is not Avneet/ Avanti)?

What is the further truth that Jai couldn't say?

What did Avneet mean by the words she said to the detective?
