Today was different. Everything was. I mean all the stuff they say about the morning after glow— that's bull crap. When I walked to the bathroom and stared at my reflection, I almost had a heart attack. My hair was dishevelled, my mascara had run down the corners of my eyes, and did I say that my hair resembled a bird's nest.

But everything else was overpowered by a feeling of serenity in my chest. The feeling that made me want to go back to bed and nestle close in Alessio's chest.

So I did. I cleaned up a little; fixed my hair, removed the remains of my makeup, peed and washed up then went right back to bed. I snuggled right next to the other half of my heart and soul. He glanced at me with his forest green eyes, kissed my forehead— twice of course, said he loved me and hugged me even closer.

"Tell me." Alessio says, a content smile sitting on his face.

"No." I stretch the word, refusing to break the terms of our agreement.

"Yes, tell me. What's the rest of the things on your bucket list?"

"No, Gio." I take a sip of my matcha latte.

It was the morning after we... you know and he had gone out early in the morning to get us breakfast and another bouquet of lilacs.

Isn't he the sweetest?

"Tell me. Please."

I get up, clothed in Alessio's pink button up from last night and I walk to the kitchen, taking out the blueberries from the fridge and walking back.

His eyes travel my body and he smiles sweetly.

"Fine," I say as I sit on the chair, putting blueberries on both our pancakes. "The first one was going to Italy; which I already did. The second one was hearing you say you love me; which again, already happened." I take a sip of my warm matcha, glancing up and meeting his intense gaze.

He nods, urging me to continue.

"Third one is owning my own bakery. Fourth is swimming in a lake or waterfall. And fifth is..." I fill my mouth with pancakes, taking a pause to chew and overthink if I should say it.

"Having a family with you. Getting married, having children." At my words, the smile on his face disappears, his jaw hardening.

"Obviously not now," I quickly defend. "You're not ready, I know. Sometime in the future."

He stares at me silently, then nods.

"What's on yours?" I ask him, smiling at the way the sun shines on his pretty green eyes.

He raises his hand, gesturing his fingers for me to come closer.

I comply, walking closer to him and as soon as I'm in arms reach, his hand goes around my waist, pulling me onto him.
