"And that's why Dazai would play as Childe. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk." I concluded"because we both smell like piss?!" Dazai yells"I don't smell like piss!" "Yea you do. You just don't smell it because you're used to your smell." "Stop!" "Doesn't that mean you have a piss kink?" "I don't have a piss kink!" That's when the agency door opened to reveal a panicked Atsushi. "Is it true the director was attacked?!" I leaned my cheek into my palm"yep." I sigh out as I glance at Dazai"we've managed to save his life,however he's still bedridden with symptoms." Kunikida explains"Yosano seems like she can't heal him either." I frown"oh I've got something to add! Lately similar assassination attempts have been pretty frequent,right? Ability users have been under attack in the alleyways at night. I heard there were quite a few casualties." Dazai states,changing the subject. I lift my head"why're you now just telling us this?" He shrugs"didn't seem important." My eyes widened"how was that not important?!" "What are the criminals features?" Kunikida questions the brunette. "They have a unidentifiable ability,also they wear a mask." "Maybe it's Masky." I joke"as if." Dazai replies"a masked assassin,huh?" "However the criminal might die before we go around. Atsushi-"the tiger boy lets out a hum as he looks to Dazai"with an 'ability user killer' being active in the city right now. What organization do you think is the most worried?"

"Uh...the Abilities Secret Services?" He guesses"wrong. It's the Port Mafia." My brows furrowed"the Port Mafia takes its role as 'wardens of the night' quite seriously. So assassinations on their turf that they aren't involved in are a humiliation to them. On top of that,if any of the casualties have been Port Mafia members..."Dazai trails off as Kunikida speaks up,pushing his glasses up"their authority can only suffer. Is that what you mean? But do you think they'd act before their own gets hit?" Dazai nods"Mori loved to say: 'he who moves first wins'. They've likely already found out the assassins base. About now is when they'll find the hideout." Dazai then gets up and makes his way towards the exit. "Where're you going?" I asked him"out. I have something I need to do before this takes a turn for the worse." Dazai then left,the door shutting behind him. "That man has so many secrets." I say shaking my head as I get up"I'm going to check on Yosano and Fukuzawa." I say as I head towards the infirmary. When I stepped inside I saw Yosano staring at the older male,a worried look on her face. "Anything?" She looks to me as I shut the door behind me. "No. I'm afraid his condition will worsen if I take my eyes off him."

Fukuzawa laid on one of the infirmary beds,he seemed to be asleep. A spell wheel hovering over his body. "Does Ranpo know?" She shook her head"when I found out I purposely didn't tell him. And I'm thankful nobody else told him either." "We should tell him. He deserves to know." She nods"I know,but there's no telling what he'll do. Ranpo is smart but sometimes he's to blind to think straight." "That may be so,but don't you think he needs to know how his dad is practically doing?" "They're not related. Don't say that." "I know,but they've been together for years and have that type of relationship." Yosano sighs and looks to me"go ahead and tell him." "I'll tell him in person. Text if anything changes. I'll be heading out now." She nods and I leave the infirmary. I walk over to my desk and grab my bag,slipping my hoodie over top my clothes. "Where are you going?" Kunikida asks"to tell Ranpo the news." Kunikida and Atsushi tense up"good luck." I smile softly"thanks. I'll try." I head towards the exit"oh also,keep tabs on Dazai. Something tells me that man is going to get himself into trouble." I then leave the agency and head towards Ranpo's apartment.

When I arrived at Ranpo's I knocked on the door,it opened a few minutes later to Ranpo. "I was fixing to head to work. You didn't need to come and get me." He says to me"ah actually I-I'm here for a different reason." His brows furrowed in confusion"oh? You seem nervous. Did something happen?" I bit my lip and stayed silent"s-something did happen..."I took a deep breath"Ranpo how about we sit down and I'll spill it,is that alright?" He nods and turns on his heel walking inside. I take my shoes off and enter his house and soon join him on the couch. "So,what's wrong? What happen? Oh god,did Kunikida break Dazai's arm again?" I shook my head as I remembered that memory,it was when Dazai had first joined the agency. "No,nothing like that. Uh Ranpo,can you promise me something?" He hums"sure? What is it?" I stick my pinky out to him"promise you won't freak out. Promise me." His eyes opened,his brows furrowed. He looked from me to my hand. He nods and locks our fingers"s-sure. I promise I won't freak out at...whatever happened."

"Last night..."I took a deep breath"there was an accident." "Really? With who? What happen?" Here it comes... "l-last night Fukuzawa was attacked by an unknown ability user and it appears that Yosano can't save him." Ranpo's eyes widened and he quickly stood up,slipped his shoes on and fled the apartment. "R-Ranpo!" I exclaim going after him. The boy sped down the street. "You said you wouldn't freak out!" Ranpo was to fast for me and ended up leaving my sight. I groaned and pulled out my phone sending Yosano a text saying he was on the way to the agency. "I'm nervous to Ranpo,but one of us has to be the strong one..."I muttered to myself as I continued towards the agency.

Time skip

"The directors examination is complete." Yosano says stepping out of his hospital room. Fukuzawa had been moved from the agency into a proper medical place,plus if the Port Mafia attacked they'd have a hard time considering how many civilians there were. Oh who am I kidding? They don't care. "And? What did we find out?" I asked looking to Yosano"it's just as the enemy said. The ability's effects are sucking away his life spam. It's difficult to say when he'll gain consciousness." I sigh and run a hand through my hair"let's save the director! Let's kill the Port Mafia's leader." Tanizaki declares"that sounds great and all but there's probably another solution here that we aren't considering." I say to Tanizaki"where is Ranpo,Yosano?" Kunikida asks the woman"attending to the director. He's really shaken up. There's no surprise there though." That's when rapid footsteps was heard from down the hall. "Guys! We've got trouble!" Atsushi yells rushing towards us. "The Port Mafia has the building surrounded!" My eyes widened"already?! Jesus..." I trailed off in disbelief. "They have people on both the main exit and back exit." Yosano sighs"as expected. What shall we do?" Kunikida pulls out his 'Ideals' book,a panicked look on his face. "Don't rush Kunikida." We all turned to see Ranpo walking out of Fukuzawa's hospital room. "Ranpo,are you alright?" Yosano asks staring at the black haired male. "The director said 'get ahold of yourself'." Yosano's eyes widened as she steps towards him"he's regained consciousness?!" He shakes his head"no. But I heard him." Ranpo turns his attention to Kunikida"give us directions. Give me the essential information and I'll read through all of it!" Ranpo demands.

Kunikida decided that we would sneak Fukuzawa out of the building while Tanizaki activates his ability to keep the Port Mafia busy. And so,that's what we did. "Catching the ability user who started this?!" Ranpo nods"if we clash head on with the Port Mafia,there will be definitely be casualties. To avoid that,we change the 'rules'. If you find and kill the ability user or have Dazai touch them,we all live." "But what if they've escaped somewhere far away?" Atsushi asks"that can't be possible. Dazai said that Dostoyevsky called the ability user 'a certain criminal ability user'. If they're a criminal,they can't escape Yokohama. We need to get the data from the Abilities Secret Services or the military police's abilities counter measures division. Having one of those will be enough for me."
