I pushed my way through the crowd as I held tightly onto Ranpo's cape. I was able to calm myself down,even if it was just a little. Caution tape surrounded the crime scene,I spotted Minoura,another police officer,Poe and Ranpo as well as the dead victim. "Excuse me,I-I need to get over there." I said pointing to where Ranpo and them were"no can do ma'am. We can't let civilians get any closer. You'll have to leave this to the professionals." The police officer said as I nodded,not even trying to start anything. I was exhausted. Ranpo was talking to Minoura and Poe about something,it was hard to figure out what it was when everyone around me was talking about what had happen. Not long later though,Ranpo pulled out his infamous glasses with a smirk. Ranpo had seemed to have noticed me,his eyes lit up as he saw me. I waved to him as he waved back,I could tell he was happy that I was alright.

"Ah it's finally time!" Poe exclaims with a bright smile"it's time for Ranpo to use his 'Ultra Deduction'!" Minoura turned to the male beside him"what,are you fan of his or something?" "No! I'm his rival!" Minoura nodded clearly confused as Ranpo slid on his glasses. His back was to me but you could tell within a few seconds his mannerisms changed. He seemed so sure of himself and confident just a few seconds ago,but now that was all gone. It had vanished. That's when he uttered the three words I never thought he'd say: "I don't know". Poe asked him what he said as Ranpo turned around,his green eyes wide. A look of unsure on his face. "I don't know." He repeats as he backs away from the body. He quickly turns away and exits the blocked off area. "Ranpo..."I muttered under my breath as I moved through the crowd to get to him.

I found him sitting on staircase that lead up to the building we were in earlier. His head in his hand. "Ranpo?" He glances up to me"oh N/N,how are you? Have you calmed down?" I nodded"yes I have. But are you ok? You seem really upset." He nods"I'm...alright." "Ranpo,I don't believe that you weren't able to solve that. Your ability allows you to see through anything,this has to be the work of an ability user." He shakes his head at my statement"no it's not. If my parents were here,I'm sure they'd be able to solve it no problem!" "Ranpo,stop comparing yourself to them. You're your own person." He crosses his arms and looks up to me"that may be so,but they wouldn't be stumped like this! You don't have to deal with always comparing yourself to somebody! You just don't understand!" I didn't respond. I could tell that anything I would say afterwards would just set him off once more so I silently nodded and shrugged off the cape. I folded it and set it on the step beside him. "I'll be going now Ranpo." I say as I turn away from him and walk over to where Poe was.

He was still over at the crime scene watching us. "Ranpo hasn't said a single word since seeing the body." Poe admits"that's not entirely true. He spoke to me,though it was just him being sad." Poe sighs"normally he'd be laughing loudly as he points out the criminal." I nod"this has really broken him. I told him it's an ability that caused this,but it seems he won't listen. Maybe you should go talk to him Poe." His jumps slightly"m-me?! W-Why should I talk to him? H-Haven't you already tr-tried?" I nod"that I have but-"I glance over to Ranpo who was still sulking on the steps. "I can tell you really like Ranpo. Wether it's romantic or not. You care for him,even when you claim you two are rivals. If you really were,you wouldn't get along and you wouldn't have helped us out. So just go over there and talk to him." I say slightly pushing him. "Ahhh! Ok..." he walks off and goes over to Ranpo.

Poe goes over to the boy who was sulking and places a hand on his shoulder. They were out of earshot so I couldn't make out what they were saying. But I'm guessing Ranpo was fine now since he headbutted Poe and proudly declared he was giving up. He stands up and places his cape back on before hopping down the stairs. "Well,I'm going back to the Agency! See ya Poe!" Ranpo says walking off as I run over to him. "R-Ranpo! Wait!" I call out to him as I follow behind him. "Do you have any idea where you are going?" He shakes his head as he places his hand in his pocket and pulls out a lollipop. "Want one?" He hums as he takes off the wrapper. "I got..."he places the candy his mouth as he pulls out three lollipops. "Cherry...grape and orange!" I shake my head"no thanks." He shrugs and places them away as we hear loud laughter.

"Oh somebody's over there. Maybe they know where to go!" Ranpo exclaims as he approaches a man in a suit. "KNEEL DETECTIVES! I AM THE KING OF CRIME! NO ONE WILL FORCE ME TO SIN AND REPENT!" "Yo,you got a minute?" The man jumps back a little clearly shocked by Ranpo's sudden question. The man places a hand over his mouth with wide eyes"so like,do you know where the taxi stand is?" The man hums clearly confused"'ta...xi'?"Ranpo sighs"well I thought we'd take the main road back to the Agency,but the road is blocked because of the murder. So I thought we'd look for a taxi over here but you're the only person here." He says sticking his candy back into his mouth. The man before us had dark colored hair,pale skin and wore an expensive looking suit. "Unfortunately,I don't know where the taxi stand is." He admits as he walks away. "Well that's fine. We'll wait here."

I could tell this made the man even more nervous than he was before. He quickly brings out a pen and notebook and flips it open to a page. "My late father always told me: 'be kind to those in trouble'. There's a train station that is a five minutes walk,I'll draw you a-" "no! Walking is boring!" And here we go... "h-how about this: when a bus is coming this way,you get on and it takes you to the st-" "the bus sucks to! I mean,I don't even know how to ride a train! Usually someone from the Agency will pick me up,but Tanizaki is being reprimanded for breaking the rules,and is now a target for target practice. Plus Kunikida is in jail. Oh I got it! Walking is annoying so let me ride on your back!" "That's not something you demand of a human being!" "But I had the rookies at the agency do it?"

That's when a black car pulled up behind the male in the suit. A older man came out also wearing a suit. "I apologize for the wait Mushitaro." Mushitaro smiles and begins to walk away,waving us off. "Terribly sorry to leave but my work associate is here. If you'll excuse me...?" He trails off"Ranpo and she's Y/N." He nods"I wish you two luck." The man opens the car door as Ranpo grabs my hand and drags me to the other side. "You'll be sitting in my lap since I don't want you close to him." I felt my cheeks burn up as he opened the car door. "R-Ranpo,that's-"he shakes his head and gets into the car. He motions me in and I sigh in defeat and I enter the car as I sit on his lap.

This is so f*cking embarrassing.

"Driver! Take us to the Armed Detective Agency!" Mushitaro slowly turns to us"WHY ARE YOU TWO HERE?!" "Want some candy?" Ranpo offers"GET OUT OF MY CAR!" "It's hot back here! Turn on the AC!" "ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" Ranpo wraps his arms around my waist which makes me ten times more anxious.

This is going to be a fun car ride.
