Chapter 8

Xan.

"You got plans tonight?" Ace asks as he enters the living room.

I shake my head. "No, the shelters closed for Valentine's Day."

"You should come out to the Alpha Delta Pi house, they're throwing a Valentines Day party. Tayen and Lennon are going."

This girl is starting to mess with my study habits but the thought of seeing her tonight sounds so much better than reading about how changes in DNA sequence ultimately leads to evolutionary change. Ever since I watched her fall on her ass freshman year I spotted her around campus often, we've even had classes together and something about her just draws me in.

I'm not the only one that's drawn in by her though. She has a ton of friends, people flock to her. She radiates positive energy like no one I've ever met. She's always laughing or smiling and it's annoyingly infectious. I enjoy teasing her, watching color flush her cheeks as she gets frustrated. They turn the same shade when she comes. When she told me she hadn't been able to orgasm since I got her off on New Years Eve, it took me off guard. It gave me a sense of satisfaction that maybe she likes me more than she shows.

"You mean you didn't have a date planned for Tayen?" I ask.

He laughs. "She despises Valentines Day. Apparently her and Lennon always go to the ADPi party instead." He slips his coat on and arches an eyebrow at me. "You in?"

I shrug and close my laptop. "Sure."

He smirks as he slips his shoes on. "Don't act like you aren't excited you'll get to see Lennon."

"I never said I wasn't." I flash him a grin.

"You can invite Jax too."

"I'll text him but he's taking Akira somewhere nice." I nod. "Let me change real quick."

Sweatpants and no shirt doesn't cut it for thirty degree weather.

In my room I place my stuff on my desk and grab some clothes from my closet. I put a pair of pants and a t-shirt on and tug a hoodie over my head. While applying deodorant and spraying some cologne on, Lennons smiling face greets me from the picture taped to my wall that I stole from her room the night she cheered for me. I slip my phone, wallet and keys into my pocket and go back to the living room to grab my shoes.

Once I'm ready Ace and I walk to the ADPi house instead of driving since we know there won't likely be anywhere to park. He said Tayen and Lennon should already be here so we start looking around the room as soon as we enter the crowded house. Its not hard at all to spot Lennon. She's standing in the center of a group of people, her painted red lips wide with a smile as she talks animatedly. She's wearing a tight red dress covered in white hearts with white boots on her feet. Her long blonde hair hangs in waves and it's the first time in a while I've seen her with it down, she usually has it in braids or a ponytail. She wrinkles her nose and laughs at something one of the girls she's talking to says, and I have to fight the grin threatening to spread across my lips at the sight of her. She's fucking breath taking.

"What are you gonna do about your situation with her?" Ace asks, nudging me with his elbow.

My gaze meets his. "What do you mean?"

"Y'all are just messing around right now, we both know you're in it for more. Are you going to talk to her and see if she's on the same page as you or just let it play out?"

I pull my lip ring in my mouth and bite the cool metal before giving him a shrug. "I don't know, things are nice right now."

I don't have a specific reason as to why I haven't talked with her about labeling our situation other than the fact that I like the way things are for the most part. It just seems unnecessary.
